Just a quick update for you all. I have already passed this information on to Stephanie at Timewarp!
DAMMIT JANET The UK Rocky Horror Convention will take place over the weekend of the 8th - 10th October 2004.
The venue is:THISTLE HOTEL, London Heathrow Airport, Bath Road, Longford, West Drayton, UB7 0EQ, UK
We chose this venue as we have used it before over the many years of organising events, also for it's ease of getting there!Either by Train, Bus, Coach, Air and any other way you can think of getting there.
We have negotiated very good accmodation rates for your weekend stay and also many other extras, hopefully this will be a weekend of Rocky to remember and we thank Timewarp & Stephanie for there continued help and input.

Right boys and girls - I have no idea who runs Autographmania (before people start asking) but the ticket prices are way better than I expected as the site seems to be up and running today

I've checked the Thistle website direct and the best they can do per night is £74.00 for a single or twin and £79.00 for a double

From my workings out - Autographmania are the people behind Sci Fi Shows and London Expo
They haven't however advertised the fact they are running this event but as far as I know they are the same people. Even the mailing addresses match.

I suspected so from the layout of the page and some of the smaller things advertised. But still, it would be nice for each "new organiser" or "event under a new name" to have a proper about us page.
It is nice to have lots of different events out there to choose from and what the organisers have run before under different banners

Anybody attending the Dammit Janet convention on the 9th to 10th October may be interested to know that there is a cheaper way of getting hotel rooms.
The convention is taking place at The St Giles Hotel Heathrow (itÂ’s moved from the Thistle).
The organisers are advertising room rates at £60 for a single or £65 for a twin.
But visit the hotel website and you can get a twin room for only £49 (a saving of £16 per night!

Welcome to T21 and thanks for the info, I had just seen the email and was about to post. To be honest, I'm not sure that anyone from here is going, but it's always good to keep the info to hand
All that can be hoped is it doesn't affect too many people who may have booked Heathrow hotels elsewhere as not everyone can always afford to stay in a convention hotel
as I imagine it's unlikely the hoppa bus will run to the new hotel (I could be wrong)
Just a bit of extra information about hotel location.
You can also get the £49 deal via Laterooms.com

Not sure where the "2 miles" comes from - even on a route planner the hotels are nearly 6 miles apart
The hotel is no more than 2 miles from the original hotel, room rates at this hotel are much better, a Single inc Breakfast is £60 and a Twin/Double including Breakfast is £65, to book a room please call 0207 300 3030 and quote reference number: HI084. The hotel is with in 2 minutes walk of Feltham main line railway station offering frequent services directly into London Waterloo
