We are thrilled to announce that Sekh's Party: The HomeComing will be held at the Thistle Hotel, London Heathrow during Friday 4th / Saturday 5th February 2005. This is our first ever event this side of the pond, so we've decided to make things - in the immortal words of
a certain Stargate persona - BIGGER!

On Saturday 5th we have planned a full day of workshops and talks to be followed by Sekh's Party in the evening and a disco until the early hours. Details are listed below:

ITINERARY: (subject to change at any time)

Friday 4th February:
6.00pm - registration open for Friday / Saturday attendees
8.00pm - Evening event (full details to be confirmed) limited to 150 people

Saturday 5th February:
9.00am - Registration opens
11.00am - Opening Ceremony
11.30am to 4.45pm - workshops / talks (details listed below)
5.00pm - main hall closes for Sekh's Party set-up
7.00pm - main hall re-opens for Sekh's Party
7.30pm to 11.00pm - Sekh's Party closes
11.00pm to 1.00am - Disco

There will be a charity auction and raffle during Sekh's Party.

TICKET PRICES:

Full Pass: includes entry to all workshops / Sekh's Party / buffet at party (beverages not included) - Â£45.00 per person
Junior Full Pass (14 years and under): as above - Â£35.00 per person

Restricted Pass: includes entry to day event or Sekh's Party ONLY - Â£30.00 per person

Junior Restricted Pass: as above - Â£30.00 per person

A registration form will be made available online and by request to either Sekh or QS. We will post the form to the lists, but please complete and return them OFFLIST to Sekh. Contact / payment details are on the form.

Please note: If it is feasible to do so, the price of the Friday night event will also be included in the full day pass ticket. If not, a small additional fee will be payable which will be used to pay running costs of the event.

NO autographs / photographs are included in the ticket price.

We only have a limited number of places for the entire event, so book early!

WORKSHOPS:

We're very pleased to announce that Fandemonium Books, the publishers of the Stargate novels, will be joining us.

We have a number of workshops planned, some of which will be specifically fan-related - including a writers workshop and a discussion on the arts / crafts of the fandoms.

We are also in negotiation with various groups, guests and
organisations - so watch this space!

AND...

Amanda Tapping has very generously agreed to tape an audio interview for us - at the moment she's not allowed to fly, so this is the next best thing. If you have questions for Amanda, please submit them to Becky at becky.preen@ntlworld.com .The best questions will be
submitted to Amanda and the resulting interview will be played back at SP: The HomeComing. Please ensure that you submit all questions before Christmas and that the subject header clearly reads "QUESTION".

CHARITY:

None of the folks involved in this are receiving any money - and I mean nobody! The ticket price is solely to cover costs of room hire, equipment and the evening buffet. Every penny after costs will be donated to charity. Details of the nominated charities will be supplied shortly.

Information, Terms & Conditions

PAYMENTS & BOOKINGS:

1) All payments are non-refundable. Paid bookings may be transferred. This is the responsibility of the original ticket holder to organise & to inform Sekh of any
changes/amendments. There will be no extra charge for changing names/ownership of tickets, Transfer MUST be made before Feb 1st 2005.

2) Payment must be made for tickets within 2 weeks of booking. We will contact everyone whose payment has not been received 2 weeks after the initial reservation, to ensure that payment has not gone astray, but it is ultimately your responsibility to 'chase up' any payments that have been sent but not acknowledged by a representative of SP.

We cannot be held responsible for payments that go astray in the mail - for your protection please ensure you keep track of cheque numbers & date sent, & if possible, send by Registered/Recorded Delivery.

We have not had a payment via PayPal go astray, however please ensure you use the correct account details when sending payment. Payments will be acknowledged by email as being received within 72hrs of receipt.

3) The confirmation email will have your booking reference number, numbers of tickets & names of partygoers, please check details & inform Sekh immediately of any errors. Ensure you keep a copy of this email and bring it with you when you attend the party/register.

4) Whilst we intend on having 'On the Door' tickets available, this is entirely dependant on pre-event sales & may not be possible - especially for Sekh's Party, where numbers are strictly limited.

GUESTS & BEHAVIOUR:

5) Any & all 'special' guests (actors, writers etc) appear subject to work commitments and cannot be guaranteed to attend. 0% (zero) of ticket price/funds raised is allocated to guests; therefore no refund is due should guests fail to attend. Special guests are not paid for
attending Sekh's Party.

6) We cannot guarantee attendees/partygoers a photo, autograph or personal time with any guests in attendance. We must and will ensure / enforce guests & attendees comfort & safety. Please be polite & considerate to guests & fellow attendees - failure to adhere to these guidelines will result in your being escorted from the premises.

7) Inappropriate behaviour towards other attendees, guests,
volunteers or venue staff will not be tolerated under any
circumstances.

8) Sekh's Party reserve the right to refuse admission to, or eject from, the event any individual/s whose behaviour, manner or attitude is considered to be rude, disruptive, violent, aggressive or inappropriate.

FOOD / DRINK:

9) Entry to Sekh's Party includes a buffet. No beverages of any kind are included. All drinks (soft, hot, cold or alcoholic) are the responsibility of each partygoer. Payment for drinks must be made to venue staff at the cash bar.

We have tried to ensure a mix of foods that hopefully everyone will like, including vegetarian options, but if you don't like the food on offer, we cannot offer a refund - we get charged per head regardless of whether you eat or not. If you have a food allergy, let us know when booking your ticket & we'll do our best to accommodate your dietary / medical needs.

PROFITS:

10) No one associated with Sekh's Party is making any money from the party. All costs associated with the actual running of the event(venue, food, equipment hire, etc) are deducted from the registration fee or are provided through sponsorship or donations. Any monies remaining after costs are paid will be donated to our nominated charities.

FUNDRAISING:

11) 100% of the monies raised from sale of raffle tickets will be donated to The Pituitary Foundation. It is the responsibility of the ticket holders to retain the ticket stub until the raffle is drawn & their numbers checked. Winning tickets must be presented to the appropriate Sekh's Party representative in order to claim a prize. We cannot hand over a prize without the ticket being present,
regardless of what name/details are on the drawn stub. The raffle will be drawn at SPUK: The Homecoming, & a list of winning numbers will be available from Sekh by email.

12) There will also be an auction held at Sekh's Party, with all proceeds being donated to a nominated charity (to be confirmed). Payment for items purchased must be made on the night - accepted payment methods to be confirmed.

Statement from Sekh's Party UK:

It with great regret that Sekh's Party GABIT events and Level3 Conventions, must announce that Sekh's Party: The HomeComing and Gary Jones Engaged will not be going ahead on 4th & 5th February 2005.

When we first decided to launch Sekh's Party in the UK we wanted to put on an event that would bring together fans who might not be able to make it to Gatecon, and raise money for our nominated charities - Hearing Dogs for the Deaf, the Pituitary Foundation and the DEC Tsunami Appeal - and as always have some fun along the way.

During the recent holiday period, Level3 were made aware that Gary Jones would not be able to attend SG-9 due to filming commitments and both Gary and Level3 were keen to help us out. Sekh's Party's fundraising track record stands for itself and, having worked with another convention organiser very successfully in the past and knowing of Level3's good reputation, we believed that by pooling our
resources we would be bringing an even more special event to the fans and raising even more money for the charities.

However, we were not given full information when we entered into our contract to conduct SP:THC in February. We have been informed that one of our activities was not acceptable to Wolf Events who have an overriding contract with the Thistle Hotel. The basis of this objection was not sound and the restriction has now been lifted but it remains that a third party apparently has (at any time prior to the event) the ability to object to, and therefore restrict, our event or any part thereof on a whim.

The Sekh's Party team are not prepared to proceed any further with Sekh's Party: The HomeComing or Gary Jones: Engaged in February for fear of this clause being invoked again. We would not be able to safeguard the best interests of our guests or our attendees and feel it would be wholly inappropriate in light of the current situation. Had we initially been informed of this pre-existing contractual
arrangement we would not have proceeded planning an event at this venue.

We would sincerely like to apologise to all of the attendees, the guests and everyone who has shown their support to us. We would also like to apologise to the charities - you will just have to wait a little longer for our fundraising efforts to bear fruit.

As far as the SP team is concerned, the matter is now closed and we will move on from this. We will contact all registered attendees to discuss their individual ticket refunds, however we have a duty to all the fans affected to faithfully portray our experiences in this matter.

Our guests have been incredibly supportive and, whilst they too are extremely disappointed by this turn of events, we have their full backing. There will be a Sekh's Party in the UK, Gary will have the opportunity to bring his one man show over here and the wonderful cast and crew of Star Hyke will be joining us to promote their new series.

We would like to thank everyone for their support and at our next event we shall ensure that there can be no interference from outside sources.

Statement from Level3 Conventions:

It is with regret and frustration that due to the loss of the venue for Sekh's Party and Gary Jones: Engaged it is not going to happen in February. We are going to add these events to our full Atlantis convention at the Marriott London Heathrow hotel on the 25th-27th November 2005.

Any purchased tickets to the Gary Jones event will be automatically offered a full refund or immediate transferral to November.

Obviously we have strong feelings and much to say about the current situation regarding the conduct of another event organiser. However we are choosing not to partake in an on-line dispute between the organisers as this causes much bad feeling and affects you as much as us.

This has caused an obvious setback to Level3 but we are not going to let this defeat us. We are determined to continue in the same vein as our SU-04 event, putting the fun and friendship back into conventions.

That's a shame as I was considering attending the Gary Jones evening. Seems again to be an awful lot of politics going on - I mean surely a hotel is free to rent their facilities to whoever will fill them on any free weekend

Moving on though, I'm now extremely intrigued about the Atlantis event. Also highly excited about the Starhyke guests as Claudia Christian is in this new show
