Yep Empire is by far the best sequel ever But as you say Wo' it's the middle part of an (the?) epic as much as a film in it's own right

Aliens is another top film. Something every lad of my generation worshipped in it's entirity especially when the "special edition" was released

Terminator 2 was imho not a particularly good sequel, even though in it's own right it was still a good film, it just changed in mood too much from the original.

Not sure what was the worst one, but I really was not impressed by the film "Queen of the Damned" the sequel to "Interview with the Vampire". It's hardly surprising when all of the original film's cast are now the top earners in Hollywood that they avoided this one

Still Jonathan Davis' work on the score was great and it was cool to seean Ibanez Universe up on the big screen

I don't really have a worst sequel, although if a sequel comes out to a film I really enjoyed, I will watch it.

However, I tend to wait for them to come out on video and watch them late at night, or possibly while I'm sleeping on the couch so I couldn't really comment.

Godfather Part II

I can't think of a worst one right now. Maybe I Still Know What You Did Last Summer

Empire Strikes Back is indeed the best sequel ever, but not truly a sequel.

Other than that, it is probably Aliens.

Worst one, i'm not sure, there are lots of bad ones.

I've not seen these sequels, but they don't sound too promising!

Worst Highlander 2. Lets forget everything that was set down in the first film and make all the immortals aliens, the tv series while broke some of the rules was a lot better and truer to the original.

The Godfather II is clearly the best sequel ever and has the oscars to prove it (ok that last bit was a tad facetious).

Terminator 2 would probably be my second pick with Superman 2 coming close.

There are so many bad ones but any Friday the 13th Movie would do for starters (part 8 Jason Takes Manhattan may be the worst film I have ever seen).

Also Temple of Doom, Episode 1, Jaws: The Revenge and Highlander 2 are pretty dire.

QotD can at least partially be excused since it's both a prequel *and* a sequel at the same time...no wonder it got so muddled up Still wouldn't recommend it though

Yesh. It all began on the planet Zeitgeisht five hundred yearsh ago. Shome two _thousand yearsh after I wash born in Egypt, and at leasht a few hundred after I wash in Japan. And if General Katana'sh mortal up there, how come he'sh shtill alive anyway? What givesh?

Not to mention that in and of itself, Highlander II was a really awful movie. Terminator II may have had a completely different central hook than the original - the future is fixed and inescapable becoming the future is yet to be made - but at least it was _internally_ consistent.

As for best sequel, I'd go along with Aliens as best 'sequel that actually is a sequel in the strictest sense of the word, and which is good as a sequel as well as as a movie in its own right', but then I haven't watched Godfather II yet.

Best: Toy Story 2!

Worst: Omen 62, Friday 13th part 986 or any such nonsense!

Best Sequel: Possibly Toy Story 2.. i really can't think of any...

Worst: Going with the majority here... Highlander II... a total abomination... And "Another 48 Hours" was pretty horrible too..

Best: Aliens because it was a great film in its own right and was consistent with its predecessor yet was not a simple rehash but a totally different film.

Worst: Highlander II because it pretty much failed all those tests above.

Honorable mention: Star Trek II which was everything ST:TMP should have been. A Trek story for a start...

Well, TMP _was_ a Trek story. Didn't the exact same plot show up in the original series?

I know it's not Sci-fi, bu the worst sequel ever, in my opinion, is the Lion King II: Simba's Pride.

Best sequel goes to Aliens, easily surpassing the original, which is still really good

Best sequel? I don't know... Terminator 2, but I'm only saying that because it's the only one I can think of and I saw it before the original, so to me, the original is wrong.

Yes, it did. Sorry, I meant not so much the plot but the pace, feel and atmosphere of it. It just did not seem like a Trek story.
