Best/Worst Sequel

OK we all know Empire is the best sequel EVER, fact. However that was a planned story in 3 parts...

Best 'proper' sequel is a toss up between Aliens and Wrath of Khan. Khan offers the biggest improvement, but Aliens was the more inventive and influenced cinema and TV ever since.

I think the worst award would probably go to Highlander 2, what possessed them?

I don't know about Highlander 2 being the worst sequel ever...I think it was the worst film ever!!
The best sequel I've seen has to be Young Guns 2 Blaze of Glory.

Well, I was kind of refering to Scifi/cult sequels, this being a scifi/cult site...

Also Temple of Doom

I believe technically this is a prequel though, being set in 1935 if memory serves, whilst "Raiders'" was set in 1936.

I believe you may be right.

Episode 1 of course also falls into this category whilst The Godfather Part 2 is effectively both prequel and sequel since it's narrative is split between a continuation of the original's storyline and the events preceding the original film.

To be even more precise ... Temple of Doom is a narrative prequel but a chronological sequel since it was produced and released after Raiders.
