Yup, Jackie Chan and Jet Li are my current favourites
At some point I'll get around to watching Li's new film "The One"

TBH, I wasn't too keen on The One. While all martial arts films are of course staged and choreographed, the sight of Li vs Li just reminds you too forcefully of that fact. I did quite like Kiss of the Dragon though nothing comes quite close to his HK stuff. All time fave Jet Li film is probably Once Upon A Time In China. A friend who doesn't speak a word of Cantonese still describes the theme song as one of the best film theme songs ever!

No argument there. That's probably my favourite Woo film. Hard Boiled has better and wilder action scenes but I figure The Killer has stronger, better defined characters. And the sight of CYF in kicking the pistol up in the air from the table, catching it and shooting his opponent is still breathtaking. Caused me to spend a small fortune on eBay to secure the Criterion Edition DVD...

The Killer is fantastic.
Yeah but I just gave up on the showing of Fist of Legend. While I love that film and I now speak Cantonese like a gweilo (according to my parents), I just couldn't take the truly dire dubbing. Bit that surprises me is that I can't seem to find that on DVD in the original Cantonese.

(luckily the movie channels are showing a few this week)
You know, I'm not altogether convinced he is!

It still amazes me that Jackie Chan is in one piece after all his movies
