Isn't Kelly Hu the girl from the Channel 5 series "Martial Law"? If so then... Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
The Scorpion King
I went to see The Scorpion King today and, despite generally average or bad reviews, i was impressed.
As most of you probably know, it's a prequel to The Mummy films, set way before ancient egypt as we know it was established. Dwayne Johnson (AKA The Rock) plays an assasin hired to kill a sorceress, but he falls in love with her, and goes on a mission to avenge his dead brother and kill the evil dictator, Memnon.
Okay, so it's not the most cerebral of stories, but so what? This film is a fun popcorn flick that is virtually action all the way through. The only time it slows down is for a quick laugh or one of Rocky's one-liners.
Speaking of Rock, he is very good in the film. Judging by past wrestlers (Hulk 'Mr. Nanny' Hogan), i wasn't hopeful, but The Rock is very good in the role. He's not going to win any Oscars any time soon, but he fits the action star tough guy role to a tee.
The female star of the film is Kelly Hu and i'll just say... MMMmmmmmm. Michael Clarke Duncan also gets an honourable mention for his role as Balthazar. I wouldn't want to meet him in a dark alley.
All in all, an enjoyable action romp for anyone who enjoys a good popcorn flick.

I saw this with very low hopes and was pleasantly surprised. I love The Mummy and was very disappointed by The Mummy Returns. And even though this was probably not even as good as The Mummy Returns, it was still very enjoyable, and my low expectations probably made me appreciate it more.
Oh, and the fact that that woman (what's her name again, I don't bother to remember it!) spent most of the film almost naked, only added to it's appeal!

and I came away in stitches the cheesyness of the entire film ran from start to finish, the mummy was agreat film, the mumm 2 was un necesary and this was well it was the rocks film.... it livesup to the cartoon series on childrens television
the eternal line "catch this" in a trinity style was side splinting and the token big black Mr T style guy was played well..... final fantasy 7's barret, the A teams Mr t, Bear of armagaden would have found themselves well in this movie
