I don't fast forward in movies as a rule, but there is one occasion when I always hit the button.
In Jurassic Park when the thieving fat bloke in a Jeep is attacked by the spitting dinosaurs (marvel at the detail, guys ) I have to fast forward it 'cos I find that scene unpleasant.
I'm not squeamish - I can watch people be stabbed, shot and eviscerated and I don't have a problem watching real-life operations or any of that, but I just can't watch that scene

Yvonne, on the subject of unpleasant moments, you would have hated the BBC 1 programm 'Spooks' on Monday. I'm not shocked easily, but this made me feel ill. A woman's hand was first plunged in a deep fat fryer, then her head was held in it, while she screamed, all to make a guy talk. My mom always hates my horror movies or gory action films, yet that was worse than Mike Myers, Jason and the Muppets put together.

??!!!!! the ewoks ruled, they were so cool. i'd say sex scenes when watching stuff at home. see whenever i'm watching something with those scenes in, my parents come into my room at that exact point. could be a normal action film with 2 minutes of sex in it and what happens? my mum walks into my room the exact moment people are getting naked. therefore if i fast forward them then they won't walk in on them.

I haven't watched spooks yet but i heard about this scene - i think its highly likely that i will be using the fast forward button at this point. The BBC have had shedloads of complaints about this. Bizarrely though about half of these have been because they killed off Lisa Faulkner too soon rather than because of how she died! Some people

that was a rather nasty scene me and my mum couldn't look heh

I'm afraid I'm not much of a one for fast forwarding through films, although I will leave off watching, stop the tape and come back later if I get bored! I usually skip opening credits on videoed tv shows though...

Ah, depends what program. I must admit, when watching ER, during the credits, I out loud, add Yeay, boo or hmmm. Kerry gets two yeays

Generally I don't fast forward, because I've got into a REALLY bad habit of watching 9so to speak) a movie, while doing work. So if it's boring I just get more work done

On the topic of horrid moments, a segment in the Poirot on ITV today was nearly as bad as the deep fat frier. A women's water was replaced with hydrochloric acid and she drank it, not realising. It was really horrid, it makes me feel ill
