I don't think she'll get the part, being too American, too small, and too young for the part, will all (I hope to God) count against her. Oh yeah and then there's the fact that the character, James Bond, is a guy

You mean that film that made lots of money for all concerned? It may not have done her any favours in being taken seriously as an actress, but it didn't harm her career prospects.

But yes, this is a stupid idea, on just about any level one can think of.

Wow !!! I'd not checked any facts and figures but'd heard SD had bombed!!! and hadn't thought there was any chance of it doing to the contrary so never looked into it!!!

Does anyone know how well it did do? (and what that means compred to other films?)

this article made me lol how could she (or catherine zeta jones) even think they could take over the role of 007? He (007) gets in so much trouble he has to get a sex change? dont work sorry. I hate james bond (but have seen them all due to my dad being a life long fan) and have always been a sean connery JB fan (he was the best imho) but for any women to think that they could take over is just plain silly, maybe she's just trying to get the idea out for a female spy but I dont think even xXx will get to James Bond status as so many fans and one or two of the actors have said or implied thats it the new generation of spy it is but it's no where near as good or as classy as James Bond. (and i dont like james bond as i said before)

if there was to be a female spy film/series spawned from 007 genre it would have to be halle berry i havent seen the lastest film yet but from the interest and praise she's recieved and the great actress she is i'd watch it.

No way, SMG really is quite a poor actress IMHO. She may be reasonable in TV, but she doesnt (and hasn't) cut it on the big screen.

Buuut...SMG as Daphne in a poorish but watchable film....MMMMmmmmmmmmmmm..

If I remember rightly, there is one cool thing in the film where SMG is walking on the island as daphne, and the camera angle shows partially the sign of the island, the bit on view in massive letters from the camera angle's perspective reads ISLA, which I think has gotta a neat nod or something from someone considering ISLA FISHER was originally billed as daphne.

I thought SMG was good in Cruel Intentions..haven't seen any other films with her in them though (that I can think of)
