Angel - Batman

This was in todays Daily Express -

Batman's an Angel
David Boreanaz is favourite to be the new Batman. The 32-year-old screen boyfriend of Sarah Michelle Geller in Buffy The Vampire Slayer, is front runner after impressing film chiefs with his spin-off show Angel, which ends on Sky One tonight.

What does everyone think of this, if DB is offered the part, good idea or bad? Would it be a bad move for him (think Val Kilmer) or a step in the right direction for film roles?

This rumour's been around for years.

Would it be a bad move for David? A starring role in a major film? Of course not, if he was offered it. I'd say he needs to do something, or his career's pretty much over when 'Angel' finishes.

I'm not reading anything into that whatsover, not only has that rumour been around for a while but so have ones covering at least half a dozen other actors. Meanwhile there's no sign of any film getting made anytime soon, and the timing of the story is a bit coincidental given that the Angel season finale is on Sky tonight don't ya think?

If it's not space filler I'll eat some sort of really edible hat.

(Plus to be brutally honest I don't think he'd be good for it

I don't see when he could do it what with him being so busy with Angel. And i don't know if i could see him as Batman.. this role i think has been offered to every male actor under 35 in Hollywood.

And i think playing Batman would be him playing Angel but this time wearing a disguise.

I should add, I don't think he'd be especially good in the role either.

I've always seen Batman as being about brains as much as muscle, and that's really not Mr Boreanaz' forte...

Incandenza It's not a zero-sum game.

Have to agree.

Mr Boreanaz is perfectly adequate but not really enough of an actor or a star presence to make it on the big screen, particularly not in this kind of film.
