Identity - Review
The short version:
Save your money and rent the DVD or even better, catch it on television.
The slightly longer version:
Had high hopes for this after a bunch of reviews described it as an intelligent slasher, plus John Cusack rarely makes bad movies.
Sadly, not impressed. Acting was all fine, especially Cusack and Liotta and everything was presented with a degree of style but that can't hide the fact there wasn't much there to begin with.
Aside from guessing who'll get it next, the movie has three twists. Two of them can be spotted a mile away, and the third though unexpected will leave you wondering why you bothered watching this film in the first place so irrelevant does it render everything you have seen.
The body count is reasonably high but there are no stand out set-pieces and no innovations in the methods of murder employed.
Mildy diverting for 90 minutes but no more than that and a lot less than its cracked up to be.
