Saw this last week with my brother and by the end we were both getting fairly irritable.
Generally I like Clooney, he's good leading man material and great at light comedy, but he lacks the range to convey the range of emotions that are at the heart of the story. Most of the time, I intellectually understood what his character was supposed to be feeling, but I didn't believe in it.
Not enough story to fill even 90 minutes, and the dialogue was atrocious. Soderberg is a fantastic director but he should stick to what he's good at.
A few excellent moments, and Natascha McElhone is always worth watching but I came away bitterly disappointed by a movie that didn't deliver ... either in terms of philosophical musing or physical narrative.
As for the ending, I know *what* happened, I just don't care how or why.
Read the book instead.
