Go on be honest - Films

Strictly amongst friends, can you think of a film generally considered poor, embarassing or just plain bad that you have a real soft spot for...

also, I agree whole hartedly with Tank Girl, Wizard (though not really ashamed of it at all) Buffy, Care Bears, My Girl, Nightmare's 1,2,3,6&7 and Karate kid.

Add

Star trek 5, Barbarella, Flash Gordon, Zardoz, National Lampoon's Loaded Weapon 1, Smokie and the Bandit, Short Circuit 1&2 and Invaders from Mars. I don't have my VHS collection at uni with me, so I can't remember anything else right now.

And, that led to the memory of the Karate Kid except with guitars instead of karate, and Steve Vai for extra measure - Crossroads (nothing to do with a motel, I assure you).

And I thought I was the only one who knew that this film existed. Yes I learned the silly solo at the end. No I never had a red Jackson Dinky.

Despite being told, repeatedly, that The Fifth Element is an awful film, it remains one of my favourites. I think I've played that dvd more than any other I own... appart from perhaps Starship Troupers... or maybe Hercules

Legend of the Seven Golden Vampires - Peter Cushing/Hammer meets Shaw Brothers/kung fu. Van Helsing and Chinese allies vs Dracula and eponymous Chinese vampires. A real hoot!

Scooby Doo - I know, I know, but I laughed myself stupid watching this...

I watched it the other day with the commentary on.
The 4 main stars giving their tuppence worth was just hilarious.

Starship Troopers,
Scooby Doo,
Simply Irresistable and not just cos of SMG I'm a sap for those kinda 30's & 40's romances

And the one that causes the most reactions;

Wild Wild West - I love it, especially the insult contest between Will Smith & Kenneth Branagh. Very Monkey Island

I think Starship Troopers is one of the best movies ever.
I love it's format - Goebbels must be spinning in his grave that he didn't get to make it

I also love that most folks don't get that it is a faux propaganda movie & not a movie movie.
I just wish they'd incorporated the whole "click if you want to know more" into the DVD editions, that woulda been really cool...

....hmmm gushing....gonna crawl back under my rock now....

I think Starship Troopers is one of the best movies ever.

And it has one of the funniest lines ever: "You get out there and you kill anything with more than two legs! Do you get me?!?"

I also love that most folks don't get that it is a faux propaganda movie & not a movie movie.

I am astounded at how many are convinced that Verhoeven must be some sort of fascist for making this film!

Remember, service guarantees citizenship.

Geez, don't get me started on this film, even (part of) wrote my A-level Film Studies coursework on it...

And there's the quotes...
