When was Spirited Away released in the UK?
The Tangent 21 Film Awards 2004 - Nominations
Welcome to the very first T21 Film awards. With the BAFTA's & The Oscars approaching I thought it'd be fun to have our very own film awards for 2003. So I'll make a selection of categorys and I'd like everyone to chip in their nominees. You can nominate as many different options for each category but you can only nominate something once(eg no multiple nominations for LOTR in best film by one person) The top 4 nominees will go into a final film award where the winner will be voted for. Without further ado here are the categorys and a brief explanation...
Best Film Film must have been released in the UK between Jan 1st 2003 and Jan 16th 2004 to be eligible.
Best Actor Please name the film that the actor starred in. Film must have been released in the UK between Jan 1st 2003 and Jan 16th 2004 for actor to be eligible.
Best Actress Please name the film that the actress starred in. Film must have been released in the UK between Jan 1st 2003 and Jan 16th 2004 for actor to be eligible.
Best Soundtrack Film must have been released in the UK between Jan 1st 2003 and Jan 16th 2004 for actor to be eligible.
Just incase you're stuck and can't remember some of the films released in 2003 I'll throw down a couple, I'm sure you'll remember more though...Bruce Almighty, Calendar Girls, Finding Nemo, Love Actually, Johnny English, Pirates of the Caribbean – The Curse of the Black Pearl, Terminator 3 – Rise of the Machines, X2 – X Men United, The Lord of the Rings – The Return of the King and The Matrix Reloaded.
Have fun and any questions just jot them in a post below and I'll do my best to answer them

You don't have to choose.. yet. If I've read the rules correctly then you can nominate as many films as you like for best film, then the ones with teh most nominations go on to be voted on for the award.

Can I throw in Buffalo Soldiers for best film?
Also, where's the 'sexiest female' category, which makes things like the Smash Hits Awards so credible?

Have to ask... why such a short number of categories? No Best Director, no Best Supporting Actor or Best Supporting Actress and no Best Foreign or Independant Film.
What's all that about?

Just a thought... Doesn't IMDB primarily list US release dates? Are we supposed to be going off those or the UK dates for these awards?
Buffalo Soldiers was filmed in November 2000 - January 2001, but wasn't released due to the political climate at the time.
Release dates:
Canada 8 September 2001 (Toronto Film Festival)(premiere)
UK August 2002 (Edinburgh Film Festival)
UK July 2003 (General release)
Germany October 2002 (General release)
USA January 2003 (Sundance Film Festival)
USA July 2003 (limited general release)

There's a UK version!?!

Milky is probably going from the UK version of IMDB, which has, you guessed it... UK dates
*looks* so there is... I've replaced the link on my favorites. That'll make things easier for me
