Biggest shock has to be that Cold Mountain hasn't been nominated for Best picture!

Its great to see Jonny Depp in there for best actor too

So.. does anyone have any thoughts on this or predictions on who's gonna win?

I would have thought either Ian Mckellen or the guy who played Sam Gamgee would have got a nomination for supporting actor.

Where's Scarlett???

As usual I haven't seen any of those films, so I've got no idea who should win. I'll go for Naomi Watts, just 'cos she's British(ish).

I doubt Johnny Depp will win, which is a shame. Although considering Pirates isn't an Oscar type film he's done pretty well to get nominated. It'll probably be Sean Penn that wins it.

Return of the King will probably win Best Picture - it's one of those films that the Academy just won't be able to ignore (like Titanic, although I'm not comparing the quality of the two in any way!).

MonSTeR No big eyes! No magic powers! No giant robots!

I'd like to see Bill Murray win best actor, and hopefully Lost in Translation take best film. I doubt either will win, but I feel that this was a far better film than any of the Lord of the Rings films could ever have been.

I like Bill Murray but I hate this film probably the worst film i've seen so far this year.

I hate this film probably the worst film i've seen so far this year.

I feel quite the opposite about lost in Translation. Having seen it I'm determined to make it to Tokyo one day (and if I happened to run into Scarlett Johansson while I was there I wouldn't be too disappointed either

)
