Trouble is, Gary Oldman is kinda type-cast as a psychotic baddie/oddball.
I can't actually think of a film where he's played a normal good guy.

...Sgt Jim Gordon.
That's right, Gary Oldman has been cast to play Sgt (it's set in the early years remember, so he's Sgt. not Commissioner) in Christopher Nolan's new Batman flick, Batman Begins
Now, Gary Oldman is a great actor, but i don't know whether i like him for this part. I'll have to wait and see.

He is, yeah, but i think he's a good enough actor and Nolan is a good enough director that they should be able to break through it. Hopefully.

Lieutenant, not Sergeant. Or they've made an error, one of the two.
Anyway I damn near marked out when I saw this. Oldman is pretty much perfect for Gordon.
