Obviously, not seen the film (The Passion Of The Christ) yet but I definitely want to see the film for the same reasons I wanted to see Saving Private Ryan because it's an interpretation of a supposedly historical event.
It doesn't bother me that it's bloody or violent. If it makes people discuss the life of Christ and his death and resurrection then all power to it. The only problem I would have is the crass and tacky merchandising that the film has led to. The film itself, IMO, does not appear to condone or encourage any anti-semitic feeling. It is a film meant to make the audience feel uncomfortable and encourage discussion. What's the harm in that?
