Revamping childhood classics?

With the second Scooby Doo film about to be released (2nd April in the UK), what childhood classics would you like to see dusted down and elevated to the big screen?

Or would you rather leave them as happy childhood memories?

Erm, well, after the first Scooby Doo film, I think I'd rather leave any childhood memories as just that - memories.

I predict that Gellar will look back on these two films in years to come and curse the day she did them and accept that they torpedoed her budding movie career.

I thought she was really good in Cruel Intentions...seems she just can't pick decent roles and looking at her forthcoming film work on IMDB I don't hold out much hope for her..she might look back on the Scooby Doo films as a god send for the cash she'll get for doing them.

Yes, you're quite right, I forgot about Cruel Intentions. She was good in that. It'd be a shame if that was the pinnacle of her career though.

Erm, well, after the first Scooby Doo film, I think I'd rather leave any childhood memories as just that - memories.

It does concern me that a variety of tv shows I enjoyed during my childhood and teenager years have been ripped to bits or turned into a bunch of cheese in this last few years. It must be very similar for people who are into comics who see characters twisted for the big screen.

I still haven't watched all of the Scooby Doo movie as it didn't appeal - the previews of number 2 with Scooby in pink boots and Daphne in a catsuit have scarred me for life

Charlies Angels looks like a big send up (haven't watched it yet) I refuse to watch the Hulk after seeing the really bad CGI on the previews. Whilst I'm sure Starsky & Hutch is good with Owen Wilson, the previews smack of campness (I'm sure it would have been better as a Dukes of Hazard remake

)

The only film recently I have enjoyed was Spiderman as it was far better than expected

Seriously though, the day they bring Fingermouse and the Adventure Game to the big screen I'm going to be worried

Most of these remakes,charlies angels, scooby doo, starsky and hutch seem to be very camped up, thats not to say i didn't enjoy them.

I do like most of the comic book films, especially Xmen but I thought Daredevil was crap, way overrated(I don't like jenifer garner either so that didn't help). So I can't wait for more of these.

and scooby doo 2 is meant to be good, i'll have to see it first.

The announcement of a garfield movie was quite shocking, I like the cartoon but I really can't see a movie working.

I don't think there should be anymore "childhood classics" films made, can you imagine a Snoopy movie or a dangermouse movie???????
