He could still direct X-Men 3.

Granted, it's not likely unless Superman has a ridiculously fast shooting schedule, but it is possible.

What isn't likely is Fox pushing back the X-Men 3 deadline, so if Singer isn't ready, they'll go with someone else. But it's not the end of the world. X2 was excellent (my favourite of the new-wave comic films), but it's perfectly possible for another team of writers and another director to come on board and make a film that is just as good, or better.

I look forward to seeing who they choose.

To play Superman i assume you mean?

I think they are all fairly young, but they want a youthful, hip Superman, or at least they did. The new film is supposed to be a continuation of the Reeve franchise, so maybe they'll rethink that now.

I hope they don't mess Smallville about..

Yes none of them look much older than Tom Welling 27, in fact hes older than one of them mentioned. I say wait 4 years for Smallville to finish then make the movie.

Isnt superman meant to be in his thirties I dont want a hip trendy Superman.

Then again we may not see it until then anyway.
