I liked that trailer up until the "We're hitching a ride!" bit. After that it seemed to turn into a trailer for Lost in Space, all that was missing was the Apollo 440 soundtrack. They seem to have made it as a big Hollywood action and special effects film, and forgotten that it's supposed to be a comedy. Apart from the demolition at the start I didn't recognise any of the scenes in the trailer. Although the little white robot thing (I'm guessing it was supposed to be Marvin, maybe?) reminded me of Gir!

I'll probably still go and see it, but my hopes are now set very low, where as I was quite excited about it before.

I dont share your scepticism, of course it still could be rubbish, no amazing trailer is a safeguard against that, but what I take away from the trailer is just how BRITISH it looks, not how Hollywood.

Most of the character bits seemed quite 'Shaun of the Dead' in some way, and many of the scenes, including the pub, and Magrathea scenes seemed to echo the TV series surprisingly.

Im not sure about Zaphods extra head tho...

I'm so excited about this film. Everytime I hear a new bit of information I squee some more. Alan Rickman as Marvin and Stephen Fry as the voice of the book are two bits of genius casting. I've read a review from one of the test screenings by someone who is a huge fan of the books and from what I read, I don't think i'm going to be disappointed

I've just seen the trailer for the first time and i was laughing the whole time I have nothing to judge it against as i've not read the book, heard the radio show, seen the tv series or anything, but still it does look like it's going to be a great fil

Yes, I do agree with you on that bit, that did make me giggle. But apart from that everything after the destruction of Earth just left me cold...

I hope to be proven wrong though...
