In the current series of Charmed there's a demon called Zankou who appears in episode 10 onwards I think the way he transports between places uses the method you're after. Might be worth a look
Help with vfx research?
Hey everyone,
I have a request from someone at work who's looking for some vfx examples to make up a reel for a client presentations.
Here's what he said:
"Dear All
Research - Suggestions Required
This is primarily a request aimed at the fantasy movie buffs.
I am currently undertaking research into "looks" for a potential atomic particle energy VFX brief.
Am definitely interested in anything with CG particulate animation and dispersion. Examples previously offered include the demise of Prof Quirrell in Potter 1 and the death effect seen on Imhotep's baddies in The Mummy.
Can anyone recall seen anything in films / TV where something along these lines has been successfully realised without looking too hokey ?"
I think they're after effects for a comic book character transformation/transportation.
I've already suggested the NightCrawler from X-Men 2, and the Blade vampire dustings.
Does anyone know any good Buffy episode vamp dustings?
What Star Trek movie has the best transporter vfx?
Any suggestions in general would be helpfull.
Cheers
