“You’ve been selected” are the words every inhabitant is hoping to hear as this means they have won the lottery! Although no money can be won, the winner of the lottery will be relocated to the island, the world’s last remaining paradise. It is their duty to repopulate the “garden of Eden”. Where the rest of the world lays in ruins of the aftereffects of the contamination, the secure facility and the island are the only places still habitable. Strangely enough though, every so often more survivors of the contamination are found even years and years after the contamination is said to have taken place. Until at one point one inhabitant starts to question his existence and everything around him and starts to explore and finds the gruesome truth.
The Island is a movie packed with terrific action scenes, betrayal, conspiracies and some creative plot twists. Overall a great movie certainly worth watching.
