I don't think I have seen hardly enough movies to be able to answer stuff like best director etc but I can have a stab at best animation. Although it all started with movies like Toy Story my personal favourite is still Shrek as for me it took animation to a whole new level as it took it out of the realm of the sweet disney kinda movie.

In my mind best director would still be Steven Spielberg but thats probably due to the limited knowledge I have of directors. He did some amazing films throughout the whole spectrum which I think is amazing.

Best overall picture...... oooh my god I have no idea there are so many good movies out there and all ear the right of best picture in their own right. I guess thats why they normally do these awards per year otherwise it would be so complicated

Yeah its really difficult to pick just one of everything, and I can only pick from the films IVE scene, which shall we say, focuses on certain genres rather strongly

Even so here are my nominations:


Best Picture: Brazil (not quite my favourite, but its winds added points for achievement)

Best Director: David Fincher

Best Actor: Kevin Spacey

Best Actress: Very tricky, among the films ive seen I guess Id have to go for Jodie Foster

Best Animated Feature: The Incredibles

Getting in on this a bit late, but what the hey ...

Best Picture: Ulzana's Raid (a stark 1972 western that trashes both liberal and imperialist takes on the genre)

Best Director: Orson Welles (ok he didn't invent modern directing techniques, but he brought them all together in Citizen Kane)

Best Actor: 'Buster' Keaton (deadpan master of silent cinema, cruelly robbed of a chance to make it in the talkie-era when MGM robben him of artistic freedom)

Best Actress: Katharine Hepburn (captivated audiences by being sassy & independent 40 years before society said she had any right to be)

Best Animated Feature: Watership Down, for scaring the sainted beejesus out generations of unsuspecting mites. Bambi as a worthy runner up for the same reason.
