Didn't see this before, but I'm with you. I'm a huge X-Files fan, and I've been waiting for them to make a second movie since...well, whenever it was that they made the first movie.

I should say, I'm a fan, except for the last season. I'm not into the Mulder-less X-Files phase. Without that character, it's just not the same show.

Of course with the writers' strike, I'm not sure if production has been halted. If it has been, I guess we won't see the movie this summer. I think that may have been the original plan.

I've not heard anything about how the production is affected by the strike either. It wouldn't be a tragedy if it didn't come out this summer, i need time to rewatch the show!

Id be very surprised if its affected by the strike, I believe they are already shooting.

The only way it will impact on the film is the same way it affected the Star Trek shoot, in that the Director couldnt come up with ideas and changes as they shot, it has to be exactly as on the page, or its classed as writing.

As the director of the film is Chris Carter who co-wrote it, that might prove frustrating.

Do either of you know the general storyline for the movie? I know it doesn't center around the alien conspiracy. But I don't know anything else. Just curious. You both have probably read more about it than me.

Afraid not. I've seen very little specifics, surprisingly so really. They're doing a very good job of keeping it under wraps.

The first pics of Mulder and Scully are out and about now, and my my, Gillian Anderson looks as good as ever. Duchovny hasn't aged too badly either I guess.

Thanks for the pictures! They're both lookin' good--although you'll forgive me for being more interested in the looks of David Duchovny than of Gillian Anderson.

Chris Carter is keeping the plot really under wraps, but he did say--and this isn't a spoiler--that the movie sort of picks up where the series left off and continues from there. Since the pictures seem to show them back working as partners at the FBI, I'm wondering how that all gets sorted out. How does he come out of hiding and how do the two of them go back to working together? Also, I wonder if Doggett and Reyes will make an appearance, or are they just gone and forgotten?

I am so eager to see that movie. I think the release date here is around July 25. Only about six more months to go. Maybe the writer's strike will even be settled by then...
