Comic book fans the world over let out a collective sigh of relief when it was recently announced that Warners and Fox made an eleventh hour agreement which prevents the whole mess going to trial.

For those late to the party, Fox claimed they had rights to distribute and profit from the movie as the original owners of the Watchmen film rights, and Warners unsurprisingly didnt agree.

Had the case gone to trial, the release of the film would almost certainly been pushed back by a year.

Long considered the 'Citizen Kane' of comics, Watchmen will hit UK screens on March 6th. An epic story, Fox and Warners will both be hoping audiences will be enthusiastic for a dark, long and complex superhero tale after the mega-success of The Dark Knight.
