As a long shot, it may have something to do with the graphics card. I've had allsorts of probs with EA Games and my graphics which led to me upgrading. But other then that I'm thinking it may be the virtual memory....gimme a bit, I'll try and find out how to look it up.
Games help
Okay, I need some more techy help here
I decided to buy a couple of games yesterday and one of them was Fifa 2004. I installed the game and everything was going hunky dory until I came to play it.
I keep getting this message:
"Fifa 2004 requires at least 280MB of free swap file space. Please free the required space and re-run the game."
Now, I've scanned and cleaned my hard drive, I've deleted programs and files I don't use anymore to free space up. I've even de-fragged the hard drive. And it still comes up with this message. I've got more than enough space because I've checked and I've got over 45 GB of free space.
So, how do I actually go about dealing with this??
Thanks in anticipation.

You might have a fixed swapfile size, I'm sure you can change it somewhere, but I don't know where. What windows version are you using?
My interpretation of this message points me in the direction of the Windows swap file (pagefile.sys) which acts as extra, virtual, memory on top of the PC's RAM.

Normally Windows will create this file with a size relative to the amount of physical RAM in the PC, but you can up this if you wish.
What I'm about to describe relates to Windows 2000, but hopefully it won't be that much different in XP.
Go to Control Panel
Select System
When the System Properties Window appears, select the Advanced tab.
You should then see a number of buttons, one of which should be labelled Performance Options.
Click this button to reveal the Virtual Memory setting and a button which should allow you to change this value.
Increase the size so that it, at least, matches the amount required by Fifa.
That's my 2p's worth.
Cheers, guys. Gobstoppers tip did the trick
