Trackmania Nations ESWC
Over the last couple of weeks this marvelous games has held me in its grips so I figured it would be time for me to write a quick T21 Games Review about it. Many of you might be familiar with the two previous Trackmania games, Original and Sunrise, in this latest installment of the Trackmania series we venture not into the desert or the city but we make our way into the stadium.
As a worlds first Nadeo, the developers of Trackmania, have developed a game especially for the Electronic Sports World Cup and are offering it to everyone free of charge. Although the qualifier rounds have already taken place and you won't be able to compete anymore for the 400.000 dollar prize money it still remains a terrific game, especially considering it is free.
The game itself combine stunning graphic with very addictive gameplay. While you race through the stadium following a wide variety of tracks to practice your skills, you slowly but surely get hoked. Although all of the single player options are against the clock, the ghost car - which follows your fastest lap - entices you to keep improving your times and eventually gaining Bronze, Silver or Gold status on a track. As a little tease the developers of Nadeo have also added their own best times to the game and after you have achieved gold status on a track you can see if you can beat their times, which can be enormously frustrating to say the least.
Besides the single player options there is also a multitude of multiplayer options varying from hot seat mode - where one player needs to beats the other players best time and the player with the best time when the time runs out wins - or LAN / Online modes where you race against your opponents from all over the world.
Besides all this there is also the possibility to create your own tracks and share those with your friends.
Pro's:
- Great Graphics (if you have the right graphics card)
- Extremely addictive
- Completely free (Download)
Cons:
- Audio isn't too great
Overall I would give it a 4 out of 5
