Lets hope that sony also cuts it's prices in the UK / US as than the XBOX360 might get somewhat cheaper
Sony slashes PS3 price in Japan
At the Tokyo Games show, head honcho Ken Kuturagi has made a very surprising announcement. Sony are slashing the PS3 price by up to 20%!
This is an amazing example of a corporation being swung by overwhelming public and media opinion, probably combined with Xbox 360 stealing it's thunder with thye very cheap hd-dvd drive and 1080p support.
It remains to be seen whether or not there'll be a price cut here and in the states, and even if there is, it's still expensive. But less expensive is always good.
EDIT: I should also add that the price drop affects only the 20gig lower-spec bundle (which now includes a hdmi port), and that they haven't announced an *exact* price, just that it will be below 50,000 Yen.
