Smart move from the publisher (I believe Atari but could be mistaken). Release date wise in EU their hands are pretty much tied as Sony got the exclusive rights to the title in Europe for at least a good few months, but by making it region free fans can buy it anyways and actually play it without having to resort to piracy.
'Ghostbusters' region free for XBox 360?
It seems that the US edition of the new game may be a good old-fashioned grey import.
I haven't seen one of those in a while (although I haven't really been looking since the halcyon days of the Mega Drive) and wasn't expecting that from such a major and anticipated title. Thoughts, anyone?

That's what I was thinking - especially since Atari've got quite a few special offer pre-order deals with US retail chains (I'm subscribed to their announcement list ), and there could be extra revenue all 'round.

This could be convenient seeing as the US version is out next week, but I've heard rumblings that Ghostbusters is effectively doing a Pixar, coming out here in October.
I'd complain, but who ya gonna call?

Just don't pun too often or you'll end up blind.
