Sam & Jola's Summer Party - Sat 26th July

Who's Up For a Party?

Date: Saturday 26th July 2003

Venue: King Charles Hotel, Gillingham, Kent

Reason: Why the hell not?

Jola & myself have decided that we donÂ’t get to see everyone enough in the year. Not everyone can afford the conventions, day events can take a lot of planning for people coming distances. The result - to host a party in a hotel where we can just PARTY!!

We want everyone to have FUN, FUN, FUN! We are hosting this across all the boards and mailing lists that we both use. The only rules are to enjoy yourselves, see old friends and make new friends. And maybe get a little merry along the way

Ticket Price: Â£12.00 per person (which includes ticket entry to the party, and a small buffet)

Dress Code: Whatever rocks your world - PVC, Costume, Normal, Jeans, etc

The party itself takes place between 7pm and 12.45am, but there are afterhours activities for hotel residents

We have negotiated hotel rooms at discount prices but these have to be booked asap.

Um, looks like I'm in!

Only trouble is I have no idea how I'm gonna get there! Who else is going from London? And when and how are you travelling?

You'll hafta talk to him if you want a lift, otherwise there's a few other people on the Boards mentioned who are going from London.

Right we are all out of hotel rooms now then

unless the hotel has any cancellations from the other event taking place that night.

Jola & I are putting together an FAQ this weekend. Is there anything that you need to know (except *yes there IS a bar*

and breakfast is included for hotel guests

Thanks for all the response we've had.

The countdown is now at 8 days.

Whilst the hotel is full we have helped a few people find existing room buddies. Tickets are still available if you want to contact us.

Anyone who has pre-booked hotels has received confirmation emails tonight with directions and a party schedule

Seems there may be some people who haven't heard. Despite my last minute inclusion, something else has come up even more last minute which means I cannot go.

So, no VoddySoaker(tm) from me this weekend. My evil twin has already stepped into the breach to take my place (and room, as kindly organized by Sam), so it's not all bad.

Anyway, hope you all have fun, and I'm jealous as all hell of all of you. Thanks again to Jola and Sam for putting up with my last minute antics and for going the extra mile to try and help me make it. Miss you all.

Well next year it may also be somewhere entirely different - but as for the clashing of dates with Memorabilia, Gay pride and just about everything else going it just goes to prove there's not enough weekends in a year
