End of Days - Thursday night arrivals

Not sure how many people this will interest, but I just spotted this on the egroup

Subject: The Night Before EoD

I know that a lot of people are planning to arrive in Blackpool for EoD on the Thursday evening, and some will be going on a pub crawl.

Just to let you all know, to give all the attendees in Blackpool on the Thursday something to do, I'm negotiatiing with The Syndicate Super Club in Blackpool for a special rate for all the convention attendees.

It's going to be an X-MEN 2 launch party at The Syndicate on Thursday
May 1st.

I was planning on finding a cinema on the thursday night away to go and watch X2 so although I have my doubts about the superclub being the best place to go I might tag along.

Failing that it'll be me finding a cinema and seeing the film on my own

It says launch party...does that actually mean the film will be shown though? Had a look at the club's site and I'm not sure if they'd have the facilities to show something like that (or the rights for that matter) so I'm guessing it'd just be a bunch of posters and stuff given away and maybe playing the soundtrack over and over

That club is actually in the old cinema in Blackpool (if its the one i think it is) but apart form that it will be overpriced and full of the usual blackpool stag and hen fools.

I'll be joining Jola et 'al at the pleasure beach after i've abused the norbrecks Gym facilities

We'll be doing the Pleasure Beach in the morning/early afternoon, heading off to see the movie at around 4 or 5 (depending on times, obviously) and back to the hotel in time to get ready for the pub crawl

So you'll still get time to see it

Yup, I didn't know the PB had been moved to hte morning either. Thought it was going to be a night thing. I won't be arriving till the afternoon anyway so probably have to miss this now.

well why not get a little group and go in the evening be a shame for the afternoon arrivers to miss out and i've never seen much of blackpool at night (my last blackpool buddy was too afraid to leave the hotel room at night lol)
