E1 - Did you get a refund?
I was wondering if any members actually got their refund from E-1.. I have yet to find anyone who actually got one..
If not, is anyone planning to take it further..
I have written to BBC Watchdog (No response, but the more that complain, the more likely they will take up on it)
Also Trading Standards who state it is a clear breach of contract and advise action through the small claim courts. I have looked into this and the cost is not too prohibitive and re-claimable through the action from White Swallow..

Despite assurances that all was going well. the Iraq situation developed and it was thought that a few guests didn't want to travel, but by the time E-1 came along, the war was all but over..
Then suddenly it was cancelled with the reason cited as "lack of ticket sales"
The promoter "Manny Patel" assured that refunds would be on the way.. I spoke to him personally and the answer was always "next week" or "definately on Monday", etc, etc
Needless to say, it never arrived..and according to some other forums, many others (possibly all) have not been refunded either..
Now his e-mail address is full and answer machine at capacity.. He also gave out bogus mobile numbers..
I don't think the Convention was a Con from the outset.. Tim Russ advertised it on his website and the promoter paid for an official licence from Paramount.. But something has happened since the cancellation to explain the non-refunds..
I know of one person who is taking steps to recover the money.. and was wondering if anyone else out there is doing the same...
