Starfury Update re: Summer Party, The White Room & Destiny

We've been getting a lot of e-mails and phone calls about the STARFURY SUMMER PARTY that will be taking place on 27th June 2004. Tickets are not on sale yet, and won't be for another two weeks. Please don't keep repeatedly calling the phone line regarding this event until the tickets go on sale.
The guests at this party will be Andy Hallett, Clare Kramer and Keith Szarabajka. Tickets will be priced at £20. There will be 50 tickets available for free to anybody who has booked for all 3 of our BUFFY / ANGEL events, FUSION, HYPERION and PROMETHEUS. There will be an additional 50 tickets priced at £15 for anybody who is stewarding at any of those events.
Also, been getting a lot of e-mails and calls regarding rumours of other STARFURY events taking place later this year.
There are going to be two further STARFURY events later in the year:
STARFURY: THE WHITE ROOM will be a follow up to last years SENIOR PARTNERS, with a similar theme. It'll take place late October.
STARFURY: DESTINY will be a one day party taking place on Friday 31st December 2004. The ethos of STARFURY is that a convention isn't just about the guests and autographs, but it's also about the socialising, interaction and partying with fellow fans. STARFURY: DESTINY will be an opportunity for fans to get together and party on New Years Eve, and see in the New Year together. There will be a selection of guests from BUFFY, ANGEL and other shows at this event.
STARFURY: DESTINY will take place at the Thistle Hotel, Heathrow.

I like the idea of White Room.. maybe Daniel Dae Kim will actually make it this time 
Destiny sounds like a pretty cool way to see in the New Year too, but I'm not sure I'd want to book too far ahead for that as i'm flakey and change my new year plans at the last minute a lot

STARFURY: DESTINY will not be a convention, but a New Years Eve Party. The event will take place on 31st December 2004. There will be guests, talks and an auograph session, but the main focus of the event will be the party which will go on until 4am. I will be inviting guests who are known for partyng and socialising; no new faces, just some very popular old faces.
Essentially, it's an opportunity for the fans to get together and see the New Year in with their many friends that they may only see at conventions and events.

I like the idea of the New Years Eve party - it was something that I believe Starfury considered a while ago.
With various members also mentioning not having to do anything on NYE, it was something that I would have liked to try and organise with others in the future (minus guests
)
Depending on money and when tickets go up for sale I'll probably be up for this as something different. I do wonder if the hotel will have extended rates that time of year, so I guess we'll have to see.

OOOOhhhhh how exciting, I never have anything to do on new years eve
will be going to this, yay. And also wnet to senior partners, loved it especially the kane gig so will probably be going to that too

If I go i'm gonna either stay up all night and get the earliest train home, or i might get a hotel room depending on how long i'd ahve to wait. Party goes on until 4 though

Getting there on New Years Eve shouldn't be too much of a problem - it's the transport issue on New Years Day - not much runs on that day (if anything) - so unless you drive then you're probably pretty much buggered.

They might be running, but it might be a reduced Bank Holiday service.

Using Stevenage as an example, they are still running with at least 1 per hour from London....

the event is now for two days finishing on the 2nd to account for the people who might not be able to get home on the 1st. the arrangements for the first is nothing until 4pm (so we can all wallow in our hangovers) then a massive dinner (which has to be booked & paid for seperately) a Q&A or quiz (or sumfink) in the afternoon then another party til 4am.
