Hey, does anybody know where this event is taking place. I'd love to go to it. I never have anything to do on New Years
Starfury - Destiny (New Year's Eve Event) 2004
Taken from the message boards:-
STARFURY: DESTINY is a one day Sci-Fi event, primarily for fans of BUFFY and ANGEL, to celbrate to coming of the New Year.
Over the past few years, many friendships and communities have been built up by people attending STARFURY conventions. We thought this event would be a perfect way for them to come together to welcome in the New Year.
Although the primary focus of the event is socialising and partying, there will be guests in attendance. At present 2 guests from the world of BUFFY / ANGEL, who are regulars to STARFURY events and are known for taking part in the parties, have greed to attend.
This is a one day event taking place on 31st December 2004. Tickets will be priced at £40. The event will feature guest talks in the afternoon, followed by a killer party in the evening.
Tickets will go on sale 1st April 2004.

Personnally I think this event is vastly overpriced for what it is.. add in the cost of travel and a hotel room and i can think of several better ways of spending new years eve
It seems i may be in attendance for this one
The only mention seems to be on the Starfury message board now - you will need to join there and see this forum

Subject: STARFURY: DESTINY Update
Just to let attendees know that after several requests, we're expanding DESTINY to a two day convention, that will now encompase Saturday 1st January 2005 as well as Friday 31st December 2004.
This is as a result of requests from attendees who would have had difficulties getting transport home on Saturday 1st January 2005.
The Saturday activities will start at 4pm, to give attendees some time to recover from celebrating the night before!
There will be an improvisation session hosted by Clare Kramer and James Leary, followed by a quiz.
There will then be a sit down dinner. Please Note: The cost of the dinner is not included in your registration, and will incure an additional charge from the Thistle Hotel if you choose to attend it.
We will be limiting the numbers at the dinner so the guests will be able to spend some quality time with each attendee at the dinner.
There will then be a New Years Day party that will go on until 4am.
Please Note: If you have already booked for DESTINY then the dinner is the only activity for which there is an extra charge.
All other activities will be a bonus for attendees.
I'm posting the tickets Friday, and they will include a booking form for the dinner. If you whish to attend I will need it back by the 18th December.
If you require a room and have not yet booked one, please call the Thistle on 0208 759 2400 and ask for In House reservations.
