We have just been issued the following statement from Gary Jones himself in response to the statements made by Wolf Events on their forums.

Dear Stargate Fans:
I'm writing in response to a statement released by Wolf Events regarding the recent cancellation of my appearance at SG:9. It's quite simple, although no doubt frustrating, to the organizers of Wolf Events. I had agreed to appear at SG:9 on Feb 18th to the 20th. but was then cast in a feature film that shoots in mid to late February when SG:9 is taking place. This is the life of every actor - constantly shuffling dates in order to work in film.
I emailed the organizers of Wolf Events immediately and advised that I had a conflicting work schedule and could no longer appear at SG:9. I received a responding email from the organizers of Wolf Events advising "It's not a problem but could you write something a bit more detailed for the fans." At their request, I supplied a more detailed explanation of the film, the name of the production
and the part that I would play. The organizers of Wolf Events responded with "Much better, thanks." It was mutually agreed that the commitment between Wolf Events and myself was over.
I then was made aware of another event, put on by LEVEL 3
PRODUCTIONS, that was happening in London at the beginning of February on the weekend of the 4th to 6th. This event in no way conflicted with my filming schedule so, being a free agent with no contractual obligations to any person or organization, I agreed to appear. It's that simple. Wolf Events' event schedule conflicted with my work schedule and Level 3's did not.
That's all there is to it.
I'm sorry that there has been any kind of confusion to the
wonderful fans of Stargate. I hope that this explanation clears things up and I look forward to seeing fans of the TECHNICIAN at the L3 event and possibly at SG:10 if my work schedule permits.
