Ok, after the exploits at Blackpool Pleasure Beach, I feel the need to go Ice Skating again. Now, the purpose of this thread is pretty much just to gauge the opinions of you guys and see if anyone is interested in coming and having some fun.
I say London seeing as I would doubt that anyone would want to travel any real distance just to go Ice Skating, however if you want, your more than welcome to come. That and the fact that if it is me organising it, I cant be bothered travelling outwith London to check them out
2 I know of are Streatham and Alexandra Palace. But all suggestions/tips are welcomed. Lets see if this goes any better than the Pool Tourney

If it goes ahead i'll be up for it, sounds a laugh.

Count me in. 'Though I'll have to remember to avoid any heavy drinking the night before if I'm going to join in this time...
How about organizing a pool tournament meet, separate from Nos, as well?
I'm up for this. I have more of a tendancy to fall on my butt in a bigger rink
The only other London rink I know of is Queensway, but it also has a bowling alley & arcade.
For those who may only wish to skate for a little while, or who chicken out, then it's a decent place.
Sange It's only kinky the first time!!! after that it's just the Norm ;o)
Hey guys just to let ya know incase you havent seen it SPIKES planning a trip to the London Dingeon?? on 11th May hope it doesnt clash with your plans here.

Yep, I'm up for this. I was quite surprised at my ability at the weekend!
Miss Corrupt That deaf, dumb and blind kid sure plays a mean pinball!
Ooooh, I am totally up for this. Won't drag my mum onto the ice, but i'm certainly interested
Right, for starters, it is highly doubtful that this will take place round a Nos weekend.
For 2 reasons, a)There isn't enough time to do it on the Saturday and b)I can't be edited doing it the day after because I guarentee I won't be up, awake or compus-mentus enough to do any sort of organisation.
Although it is pretty sure that it will take place on a weekend. My thoughts are it would be a Sunday. Seeing as Spike appears to have plans for a London Dungeon meet on Nos Day (?) I'd also like to arrange a couple of meets that don't seem to revolve around Nos nights also
JayJay - I'd be more than happy to try and get the pool tourney up and running again. Hopefully get it sorted after this meet, unless there are any other volunteers
I've already located a page on the internet for the Streatham rink which details prices (Discounts on group booking also) which seem fairly reasonable.
I'll let this run for a couple of days to gauge interest and depending on what happens, I'll try and get a date finalised

There a small rink right outside Liverpool street station...would that be any good ?
ok i'll still come along but my god i went ice skating saturday and it was well different on a big big one, i fell flat on my back and did my arm it, it was like well slippery, totally mental.
Have we got any idea when this is happening yet???

Ok, I know it says Firstbowl, but it also has a nifty Ice Rink too.
Sessions
10am - 2pm, 2pm - 5pm and 5pm - 7pm.
Now I know for fact that people need to leave early/mid afternoon on the Sunday, so I'm proposing the 10am till 2pm sesh. That with the fact that I don't know many people that will be able to go a full 4 hours skating anyway. There are 2 15 minute breaks for 'Dance' sessions (Whatever they are, prolly intervals with flashy lights etc)
Costs
£5 plus £1 for Skate Hire per person, per session.
From what I can tell the ice is relatively well maintained, and they do say that they reserve the right to resurface it at any time, so that at least shows some sort of care. Hire skates appear to be relatively well kept also. From what I could see (Not that I was scoping out everyones feet) the skates looked like they were all quite new too.
I quote from the leaflet: The centre features a brand new Ice Rink 12 lanes of full size ten-pin bowling, fully licensed bar and Wimpy restaurant and 80 of the latest hi-tech video games and amusements.
I would say that covers everyones taste wouldn't you?
Directions
Make your way to Queensway tube stop, from the exit turn left, walk 50 yards, and bobs your uncle.
Final Call
In short I say we meet there at 11.30am, and take it from there.
Right, definite names please....so far:
