I *love* ten pin bowling

Most places nowadays have a bar etc and we always manage to take drinks to the lanes

Not sure of many venues around London apart from Streatham and a large one in Croydon though.

Depending on where/when it is I'll probably be up for this.

Are we talking in or out of London?
If it's in, then I know a few bowling places. All have bars & all let you drink & bowl...but that's just my choice

Venue can be wherever the majority want to go - which I'm assuming will probably be London, but doesn't have to be.

When we went Ice Skating they had a bowling alley at Queensway (strange, seeing as it was called Firstbowl... ), but I'm pretty sure you couldn't take drinks onto the lanes.

As for dates, if it's any help I was thinking of the 22nd or 29th of June, as I'm not working those weekends.

Any thoughts/suggestions?

I'm probably only free on 29th June (busy month!) but it also depends on where it is as babysitters this month is a problem

Yep I'm up for this. I think I'm free both of those weekends. Can't think of any other venues at the moment though.

I'm away on a hen weekend in Blackpool on 29th. 35 females in a coach from hull to Blackpool! I only know three of them but I'm sure it'll be a fun weekend.

The other weekend is my only free weekend next month. Not sure I can afford it, but I'll try.

I wouldn't say no to a bowling meet. I'm not great at planning more than a week ahead but I think both those dates are suitable for me.

I went to the bowling place at Queensway before xmas and you did get 'Alley Catz' bringing over snacks and jugs of beer. I don't think this was just a xmas thing though I could be wrong. I know you can't take your bar drinks to the lanes but fingers crossed they still do service alcohol! There is another place next to Finsbury Park tube. I've not been there for a few years but I think its passable. I could certainly find out the lanes/drinks situation if necessary.

29th is no good for me. I'm at a Hen Party in Blackpool.

No, nothing definite yet. I think maybe we should go with Firstbowl, seeing as my understanding that you couldn't drink there was erroneous, and it's easy to get to. However, I was toying with suggesting a radical alternative that we go to Oxford instead of London and make it a real day out. I'm not about tomorrow, so I thought I'd ring Firstbowl on Wednesday to confirm if drinking at the lanes is allowed, as well as checking options for Oxford.

Any thoughts? Does Oxford appeal to anyone?

Oddly enough I'd put in a vote for Oxford...

Although I'm not actually sure there's a bowling alley here. We do have Laserquest, but that may be a totally different kettle of fish...

EDIT: There is a bowling alley although it's quite a way out of town and doesn't seem to like advertising itself I have no idea what it's like but I'm sure if I ask around I'll find someone who's been there.

I'm restricted to travelling at the mo with one thing and another so Streatham would be the best option for me but if its elsewhere, no worries, don't worry about accommodating me I'll go another time when things here at home aren't so hectic

Lioness can only do the 22nd, but Jola, Taz and Pegasus can only do 29th. White Hart was interested in Oxford, but Jola could only do Streatham. Have I missed anything?

OK, most votes are for the 29th, which is probably better for me. Apart from White Hart, there wasn't much interest in Oxford, but a preference for London.

So, how about meeting up on Saturday 29th? I suppose Streatham is as good as any, although I have no idea on how easy it is to get to.

So who's definite, and who can suggest a place to meet in Streatham? I'd suggest meeting at 2:30PM, so that anyone who wants to watch the 3rd place play off before hand can do... (by turning up at a nearby pub at 12:00?)

Streatham is in South London and there are no tubes nearby.

You can get a train from Waterloo or Victoria to Streatham Hill and the bowling is a short walk from there.

I'm not sure of pubs in the area (even though its not too far from me) I only ever go there for bowling or ice skating

The only option is meet at the bowling at take it from there perhaps?
