Date noted, and I'll start seeing if I can get someone to cover my shift for that weekend.
Southampton Meet (How's 28/9/02?)
As it's been a fair few months since the last one, I thought it was about time I found out how many peeps would be interested in another Southampton meet?
Now, I'm pretty much writing off the rest of July and August to let the con season run its course and people have their Summer hols and the like.
So, we're looking at September or October at the latest.
This thread is just to canvass as to who is interested and once I get the idea of numbers, etc, I'll finalise the date and we can do a proper roll call.
Now, for those who haven't been to Southampton before, or one of the two previous meets, the middle of Southampton itself is mainly pubs and eating places, which I know most of us don't have a problem with. There's also the West Quay shopping centre and multi-plex cinema if peeps want to see a film. Unfortunately, there's nothing like a bowling alley in the city centre (although there is further out which will involve a bit of travelling in taxis, etc, if peeps want to do that).
This leads me on to my next point. If people really want to do the bowling thing, as well as the rest, it may be just as easy to have the meet in Portsmouth (which is just as easy to get to) but I'll wait and see who is interested in coming and what they particularly want to do. So there is always the chance this will become a Portsmouth meet (plus I know a great place to park for those who want to drive down )
So, what I want to know, in a nutshell, is..
1) If you are interested
2) If you are, what dates are best for you
3) What you want to do at the meet
Okay, that's enough of my rambling, over to you...
(Cue ghostly wind and tumbleweeds.....)
PS. I have room for at least three peeps to crash at my flat to save people travelling back the same night, etc

Date looks reasonably good for me too. I will make every effort not to get my car locked in a car park this time
I'd like to come to this one too and the date sounds good, enough time to get some money together after The Prom and school disco so count me in
damn that date is my mates engagement party, but i hate his fiance so i'll probably still make it, jsut need a good excuse as this will be more fun.
You certainly can

*runs in late*
I'm a "yes", can I still have the sofa?
*bump*
As suspected, himself has something planned for that weekend which he won't tell me about, it being the big 34 and all... so have fun and don't trash Whistler's flat (but feel free to trash Whistler )
Looks highly unlikely I can make this one now *sob* too much happening and no babysitter
Hope you all have fun without me - but with any luck I may still be able to make it at the 11th hour
