Yeah, I think I'd be interested in this Don't have a preference
chislehurst caves
Earlier tonight in chat Jola and i were talking about the caves in chislehurst that are reputed to be haunted, and thought it might make a fun meet to go on a tour of the caves (possibly as part of a nos pre meet in november or december). Chislehurst is just a short train journey from waterloo, the tour costs £4 per person and lasts about 45 minutes, for more information just check out the site at www.chislehurstcaves.co.uk
Anyone interested? and if so any preferences about the date?

We chose it to be part of a Nos Pre-Meet as thats when most people will be about and as everyone should be in London anyway it makes life alot easier.
I've looked into B&B's in the area but there are none close by or if there are they are a cab ride away or not enough rooms
If we get 30 of us we can have a tour on an evening all to ourselves

Makes more sense to have it as a Nos pre-meet (although there's no pub there I suspect - you know what the guys were like at AT!!! )

Although I quite like the evening idea too, so it would depend on whether more people could do it as a separate thing.
There is a pub just round the corner, but i dont know if its any good because the last time i was in the area without a car to drive i was too young to get served, however Jola knows a couple of good pubs in chislehurst if people do want to make it a seperate meet

I went there with my Junior school when I was 7 It was quite good, and they give you little lanterns to carry
Lanterns?? Well, colour me sold then!!
Was in a bookshop yesterday (shock horror!) and started glancing through a cave book.
Apparently these caves are the biggest in Britain that can be accessed without having to don a wetsuit etc .... ranging in about 22 miles of caverns!!!!!!!!!
Don't expect me to cover that in a hour

You do realise that if you get taped up and left down in the caves you might never get found? but it wouldnt do the caves reputation any good, if word got out that you were haunting the caves women would be too afraid to go on the tour.........

One of the stories in this cave book was that a young man broke into the caves before it was opened to the public and when they found him *they think* a few days later his fingers were red raw and stubbed and the coroner's report said he "died from fright" and looked liked he'd been stratching to *escape from something*
So anyone fancy an overnighter in the caves then?

A dark evening in a haunted cave with 30 of us lot? That sounds way cool!
Forgot all about this one
Mind you the weather is crap for walking around caves at the moment, but maybe nearer the summer months it may be an idea if people are still interested
