well the viking centres pretty cool, if we all got drunk 1st its be really cool, we could jump off the ride and play with the animatronics

Possible York Meet....
Ok, for those of you who have seen my thread in General Chat about me going off to uni at York will know that we have started considering doing a meet of some description in York.
I know this is a bit early, as I have NO idea when or where we could have it, I just thought I would start a thread so that we could pool a few ideas.
Who's up for it, and does anyone have any suggestions as to a cool places to go?

York would be good for a meet, its been a while since I last went so dont know the area really.

Still waiting for my brother to get back with some more suggestions, but I'm sure Bryany can thing of some.
Personally I vote for staying in a number of pubs and drinking - none of this touristy Viking Centre Malarky. There are LOADS of cool places to hang out in York centre, so that should be no probs.
Anyway, as I said elsewhere, count me in. Shifts might be a problem if you're going to hold it this side of New Years, but pick a date and I'll do my best.

York is an ace place... My sis lives there so I go up a lot. There's many many places to drink and Fibbers bar always has some decent band playing. Then there's clifton moor bowling and bar with loads of pool tables, always fun.

OK, this is still a really cool idea and am really interested, but I'm not sure whether I'd be willing to take on the responsibility of organising it...if someone wants to help, then I'd really appreciate it!

Golden Fleece. Kings Arms, ummmm....Wetherspoons, or we could just do a general pub crawl type thing!
I'm not too bothered when, not really that busy this term! How about a Saturday...or a Sunday for that m,atter? I no longer have to worry about working in Waitrose!

Weekends are always best

Weekends are pretty good. When i visit I usually make it a friday-sunday trip so i get two nights stay. It looks as if april or may would be a good time to organise something. Whats everyone think?

April & May are quite busy according to the calendar - June looks more likely

Ah but at the end of the day it also depends on who's likely to make the meet Perhaps people keen on getting to York aren't necessary convention busy if you know what I mean

I'm still up for this. You really do have to look at this being on a Saturday unless you only want York people there - the rest of us need the Sunday to get back home for work on Monday. Except me, cos I work silly shifts...
Can also be a good idea to have a smaller meet on the Friday as well, for those who can get up a day early.
Basically, I'm pretty much booked up until March (including the first weekend in March), but anything after that should be cool.

Okay people what dates can you make? What would be best for you? Currently we have mid march and after that we move up to around june time. The main meet would have to be on saturday, because it is unreasonable to expect people to make it up on a friday night, but again there's nothing to stop people coming early and meeting up beforehand.
I'm easy on the date bit... I don't work weekends so there's nothing to stop me nipping up at any time.

We'll I'm gonna have a week off in June I think so that would be good for me. Saturday of said week would be the 21st.
