Possible York Meet....
Ok, for those of you who have seen my thread in General Chat about me going off to uni at York will know that we have started considering doing a meet of some description in York.
I know this is a bit early, as I have NO idea when or where we could have it, I just thought I would start a thread so that we could pool a few ideas.
Who's up for it, and does anyone have any suggestions as to a cool places to go?

I'm thinking that mid march might be better for me, as if we go too late into June then I am going to have exams or will be going home for the summer. How does late March sound to people?

Yeah that sounds good, can do mid, just not late. Will have to wait till the next rota comes out to see which weekend I have off.

Okay the weekends starting 8th and 15th march are currently free of meets. Are these two any good?

I'm not going to be much help here... 
For me, the 15th is by far better. I was intending on being in the US then, but it would be no hassle to delay flying out to the Monday.
However, this is also the weekend of Nos (probably), which may disincline some people to go. But as I've been this month and will probably go in Febuary, I don't mind missing the March Nos.
Don't you just love organizing meets?

And the weekend before 6 of us will be at the Haunted Castle in Scotland

here here I refuse to say if I can make things nowadays as so often I've had to pull out anyway.
But York is a far cry from London so it may not be that people going to Nos will mind.
Certainly if anyone is driving to York and passing Cambs and doesn't mind picking me up then I'm in

I should be able to make a March date- for anybody thinking about travel, there are usually Trans-Pennine trains between York and Manchester every couple of hours through the night and GNER are currently offering £20-25 return fares in March.

Ah. Well, as Cat has now made March Nos her offical 'I'm Leaving England' event, I can't make that date now...
However, this only stops me going on the 15th. Any other weekend (well, not the 1st either...) I can probably make.

Is anything happening with this meet? I have a bit of floor space for people to crash on if you all want to, and hopefully I'll be moving into a house near York centre on the 1st July which has a large living room, providing more space for people than my room at uni does now. If this does go ahead (possibly start of July onwards would be best for me, but I wouldn't mind if people wanted to have it before then, you'd still be welcome to stay in my room) it would be really cool! Monday is Ikon-Diva night, Tuesday is alternative night at Ziggy's, Wednesday is cheese night at Ziggy's, Thursday is Kinky Indie alternative night at Toffs (cheese any other night there) and there's usually some good bands at Fibbers on Fridays Weekends are good too though! And there's bars on campus (yummy JJ's Blues cocktail! 
, bowling at the Megabowl, various cinemas, and millions of pubs! Trebles for Singles is a good deal on at the Nag's Head pub - a treble vodka and coke for the price of a single!

Dangerous game, asking people for dates, as we've already seen. Even if people do give dates, circumstances change. I recommend, if you are going to organize this with head2head, that you just find a date you can both do, give everyone else a good 6 weeks notice, check the calender on site in case there is a MAJOR clash (End of Days or something), and then just go for it. People will come as long as there is booze to be drunk and a place to crash.

Right...seeing as Vampire Dust lives next door to me at uni, I'm sure we could sort something out!
I am still up for this,, and will help to organise it, its just I've had a lell of a lot of recently *feels bad* Plus I'm not at uni anymore!
