Wake Up Screaming! next tuesday (Oct 22nd)
A bit of blatant self-promotion which may or may not be of interest to anyone in the Cambridge area...
There's a club night in Cambridge called Wake Up Screaming (or WUS as it's usually known) organised by the uni Rocksoc. It runs from 9 til 2, costs UKP3.50 to get in and is at the Kambar, on Wheeler Street (opposite the Corn Exchange). The music is officially 'rock/metal/alternative' - all the DJ's are volunteers and play whatever they fancy, so you might get to hear anything.
Anyway - the exciting bit - I'm going to be DJ-ing (very much in the playing-one-record-after-another sense) next Tuesday, from 9pm til 10.15pm. Weeeeeeeeee! So, feel free to come along and give me moral support if you're in the area!
And the even more exciting bit - later on, from 11.30 til 12.45, Andy Cairns from Therapy? is going to be doing a DJ set, which is very cool indeed. So, hopefully see some of you there...

I'll post the setlist when I, erm, remember what it was
Andy Cairns is a ROCK GOD!! and a really nice bloke too. He seemed to enjoy it a lot and may come back - and said he might know other rock types that might come and do a set too, Ricky Warwick from the Almighty and some bloke with ginger hair (you listening T) were mentioned

Sounds like a very cool night, and an awesome set. 
I would have liked to have gone but I'd never have got home from Cambridge at that time of night.

RockSoc don't, but there are weekend club nights at the same place that are more rock/indie and a bit less metaaaal than WUS.

I'd definately be interested in going to this or the indie stylely nights, especially if one the lovely Cambridge ladies *winks at Peg and T* could put me up for the night.
