Fairfields hall in Conneticut, they featured in Scariest Places on Earth. A team of researchers went there and got really wigged out by lots of stuff including a sillouette of a moving man, when there was obviously no one there.

I'm up for this, although so far it seems sketchy as to whether we actually have permission to camp there. Spike can you check we'd all be OK to do this. There being quite a few of us its not like just one or two inconspicuous campers.

I love camping, and telling ghost stories round a camp fire in a spooky place sounds like heaven.

Fairfields its very very unlikely we'd have permission we're not even really allowed near there, but clophill we could get away with camping there easier, but we'd best be early in the morning as i dunno if we're really allowed to.

ooh yeah, i was thinkig maybe may, i have the house free but it'd have to be the week after end of days and week before nos, so its a bit of a bad time for people whoa r ehard up, but thats only time i think i can do it. so Saturday 10th may 2003 or maybe the friday i'm plannnig on doing it.

Think having it between EoD and Nos will definitely make it hard for people, Spike. And I'm planning on flying to the States for a fortnight at the beginning of June. But I understand that this is the only time you'll have the house free in the near future.

Anyway, depending on my finances, I'm still interested in going. But it's very much a case of 'wait and see' for me

Unfortunately, I'm working that weekend. If, nearer the time, I find I have a couple of spare days hoiday to use then I'll book the weekend off and come.

Found this place after doing more Clophill research. I know this thread is kinda old but in case it gets found again I thought I'd leave a post....

Now, without sounding like a boring old git (I'm only 28 LOL) Everything I'm going to write IS true. Wether you belive me or not is up to you, dont say you've not been warned!! I'm not a freak, I'm not weird, just a normal paranormal investigator. Anyone who has a psychic skills or genuine experiences there will understand.

I just wanted to warn you to be VERY careful when/if you go to Clophill. I've been many times (it's one of my favourite active places) and had many experiences there. Mostly hostile! I'm not a medium or clairvoyant, I can't communicate fully with the spirits, but I'AM sensitive to energies and am able to sense when there is a spirit close to me. I can also tell if it's a nice energy or a bad one.

There is a LOT or rumor and legend as far as the ruin is concerned. Some belive it's an old leper burial ground and was situated there so it was a way from the village. The ruin that is there now is also possibly not the original one.

There was also a lot of satanic rituals rumored to have taken place there in the late 60's. Graves were dug up and bones arranged on the altar inside the ruin. The place is chut off by Police on Halloween to stop people going there and doing similar stuff!

There are 3 ghosts that are supposed to haunt the area. A monk on foot, a monk on horse-back and a 'white lady'. But belive me, there is more than that.

I have captured many fantastic Orb photos in the area and have also caught one 'popping' up from a grave on my night vision camcorder. The last time I went was last night (27/08/03) Sadly there was a large group of 'teens' who were not the quietest people. Especially one idiot. Mostly though, they were quiet and respected what we were doing.

The spirits were very restless and let it be known that they were pretty pissed after an hour of noise. So was I as we had gotten some great results the week before. Including me being touched twice on the ear as I felt an energy around me.

My friend who is more sensitive to spirit energy than me was made to feel awful, she felt sick, her head was pounding and her energy drained. Basically a kind of attack on her by the spirits. They will always pick on the sensitive people as they know they can convey their felings easier.

We left very soon after. She is off from work today as she still feels rough.

Remember with everything that has happened there....satanic rituals....noisy groups....damage done to the ruin and graves, the spirits are VERY defensive and will try to get you to leave.

The 'dark side' of the church (the otherside to where to first walk up to) is one of the most oppressive areas! It was near here that I have seen 'people' walking near me and also near to where I was touched. They also try to push you out.

The cemetary and inside the church can also be very active.

Knowing what I do and feeling the unhappiness of the spirits as I have, there is no way you would get me camping out there! And I do regular haunted places!

P.S. Also have some ground rules!

1) DO NOT take the piss out of anyone who is afraid or unsettled by the place. If your honest, your probably just as scared too.

2) RESPECT the area! As someone else mentioned, people ARE still being buried up there. Think about how you would feel if someone was disrespecting the grave of your relative.
Also be aware that they are walking around among you. Just because you cant see the spirits, does not mean they are not there! They have had a lot of toruble and disturbance over the years, they are bound to be easily wound up.

3) Let someone who is not joining you, know where your going! Take at least 2 mobile phones too. Preferably on different networks, just so your covered.

4) Take plenty of spare batteries and several torches. A Maglite is a good one as you can use it to protect yourself from other humans should you run into any problems. There are also lots of holes in the ground, look where your walking!!

5) The area is notorious for drug dealings and trouble makers. People go up there sometimes with the sole intention of scaring others. Be aware!! If you see other people up there and dont feel as though you can trust them, turn back. There is always another day! If you do stay, lock your car and hide all valuable items!

6) Take your litter away! Basically respect the area and those who live in the village. The Police also do regular check up the lanes.
