T-Party 2003 - The Return - Party Music
With the party comes the disco, what music would *you* like us to ask the DJ to bring with him? Remember we have a very wide & varied membership whose musical taste may not be the same as yours....
So, what music would you prefer & if there was one song that you simply had to have, what would it be?

Well, if I hear any of the following I'll be a very happy camper: Nine Inch Nails, Offspring, System of a Down, Green Day, Jimmy Eat World, Lostprophets, A, Queens of the Stone Age, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Foo Fighters, Tenacious D, Pearl Jam, Nirvana, Soundgarden, The Cure...
But if I had to hear one tune it would have to be Linkin Park's In The End.
Although a slightly more left field suggestion of Aqua's Barbie Girl seems to spring to mind as well...
Oh, and any songs referring to birthdays get my vote. Not that I would try and use this thread to bring to people's attention the proximity of my birthday to this event .. oh lordy no!

I second that.

Sounds like a plan. I can bring my guitar along, so if anyone has any suggestions (within reason ) as to what we should play, that'd be good.
by Lioness
If the guitarists amongst us want to bring theirs along we can do another accoustic set like at last years. I'm willing to allow people to crash mine for a post-T-party party again if the staff are ok with that. We can have a bit of a sing song then if you want.
Right my turn.
its a bone of contention that not enough decent music is played so i'm glad we have this board to sort it out!!
obviously we need to have stuff that at least a few will want to dance to, so i'll try not to pick anything obscure!
BUT, if were going to have the ...dare i say it ....macarena and other such cheese can the dj give a warning to us with sensitive ears. so we can maybe go somewhere else!
my suggestions are-
POP/ DANCE
Pink- just a pill / get the party started.
Avril lavigne-complicated / sk8r boi
Britney- complicated/ slave 4 u/ boys/ crazy/ overprotected
Shakira- whenever,where ever
Kylie- kids/ in your eyes/
holly valance- kiss kiss
no doubt- hella good
suga babes- freak like me / round round
Christina Aguilera - dirty
Aaliya - try again
Blade soundtrack - confusion (pump panel remix), the bloodbath song!
fat boy slim- rockafella skank
chemical brothers- hey girl hey boy
curve- chinese burn (buffy & faith dance song)
ROCK/ METAL
korn- here to stay / got the life / freak on a leash
Rob Zombie- Living dead girl (Angel-faith dance song)/dragula
Rammestein- ich will/ fever frei!
disturbed - stupify
Linkin park- one step closer
puddle of mudd- control
Limp Bizkit - Nookie
offspring- original prankster / want you bad
Garbage- tempation waits/ stupid girl
marilyn manson- beautiful people / tainted love / fight song
prodigy- smack my bitch up/ poison /breathe
Bon Jovi- faith / living on a prayer
Sisters of mercy - temple of love (92 remix)/ domminion
cult- she sells sanctuary
nin- head like a hole
u2 -discoteque
bloodhound gang- the inevitable return of the great white dope/ the bad touch
alien ant farm- smooth criminal
Im sure there are more, but that should keep you busy!!!!!

I gotta agree with most of what's been suggested so far. I have nothing against cheese, but when i'm already drunk. Like Maffrew said people seem to prefer pop when drunk. It'd probably be a good idea to start off with the rock stuff and play cheese later in the night. more people are likely to dance later on. The Time Warp is especially fun when everyone's drunk Same goes for the macarena and stuff like that.
I'd really like to hear:
Four Star Mary - Please could we have some FSM?? There's a load of fans on here.
Been mentioned but i'll say it again. Some Bon Jovi - Living on a Prayer is always good.
Stuff that's already been said that i'd like to echo - Jimmy Eat World, Tenacious D, Matchbox 20, Guns n Roses, Greenday.
Plus Time Warp followed by Sweet Transvestite like they played at Eclipse.
Might be a long shot, but worth a try, any chance of some Barenaked Ladies?? Even if it's One Week. i'm sure Dru's Dead Bird will back me up on this one.

The other thing is, if your requests would be considered a little "obscure" by anyone other than you and your best friend, please be prepared to bring your CDs with you if you want a chance of them getting played.
Dee Lite - Groove is in the heart
by Velvet Glove
if there was one song that you simply had to have, what would it be?
Just another couple of suggestions...
Billy Idol - White Wedding. As there'll be no karaoke we won't get the definitive version as heard last year, but Billy does it almost as well.
Wheatus - Teenage Dirtbag. As if a reason is needed.

I'll bring up a few CD's with me. I know there are a couple peeps here that are after a shot of them anyway

Please keep posting your ideas up here, I am more an 80's chick with a couple of favourites in the heavy sounding stuff, but then I am no 'nu metal' (I have been informed) knowledge-gal so please don't forget to list the songs that are good by that band that would be your choice as I will be emailing our final list to the DJ
Nemesis - thanks hun for your well thought out list, we will be considering every suggestion on here to keep everyone happy with the music but *please* bear in mind that stuff you rave about will leave others cold, so we will be mixing ('we' as in DJ ).
Music is very important to the atmosphere of the party & the more help we get now - the happier you guys will be
Keep them coming!

Limp Bizkit - Rollin', Take a Look Around
Papa Roach - Last Resort, She Loves Me Not
Nickelback - How You Remind Me

Can we add Blurry to that list, please?

My vote for Bon Jovi would go to either Living on a Prayer, It's My Life, Dead or Alive or You Give Love a Bad Name.
Guns n Roses - November Rain, Paradise City or Welcome to the Jungle.
