I still think Birmingham is the best place, but why not come to Cambridge then I won't have to travel very far

I thought Brum was fantastic, i know we had prolems with the hotel night time evil Jim guy, but coudln;t we arrange something with them allowing people to visit other peoples room as long as we aren;t too noisey, or get them to put us all on one floor or something.

I thought Birmingham was a great location too. Only other town that springs to mind would maybe be somewhere like Leeds.

With Liverpool/Manchester maybe being too far west, the above two seem like the more ideal places. No idea what the transport situation for Leeds is though, sorry.

I agree that Birmingham is the best place because it is central. Do we really need to change the location every year? Why not keep it in Brum where it is reasonable travelling distance for everyone?

I must admit i enjoyed my first visit to Birmingham, but it was one heck of a slog for me (4 hours plus on a train) and while i really don't mind Birmingham, i'd suggest York. On the main line, lots of hotels and B&B's, plenty of pubs and touristy type attractions for through the day (and only an hour on the train from Newcastle ) but i'm happy with Birmingham if that's what the majority choose

I agree with everyone else, B'ham seems about right! However I also support the consideration of Leeds, but then again it might be too far North for most... *puzzled*
I personally nominate (although not seriously) Manchester hehehe

Well Birmingham is great, but there's no harm in having a bit of a change. I wouldn't mind Manchester, and I'm sure we have enough people on here with local knowledge to help out.

but i still think brum is a better place for the party, manchester is too busy and the travel inn/lodge thingy isn;t that nice...the Ibis is lovely tho

I'm still rooting for Edinburgh and staying at a backpackers-like place/hostel. dead cheap, loads to do and not a location done before.

Another one in agreement with Birmingham.

The trip to Sheffield was a long slog. Birmingham is, as many people have said, pretty central (for most). There was seemingly plenty of different things for people to do on the Friday night and during the day on Saturday.

Plus, couldn't fault the venue, or for that matter the convenience of the hotel - even if the staff were incompetent/miserable.

Brum was a good bash, and the pub was great. The hotel a little dodgy, but what did they expect with a huge party. Their own fault really.

However, have it anywhere really. I'll travel the distance as its easy for me being in the midlands, although a central location would be fair on others. How about Nottingham, Leicester, Wolverhampton or Coventry? all fairly central and easyish to get to.

Well, Brum was fun. Yeah, the misery guts on night duty was a bummer, but we don't have to stay there again.

However, I also like the idea of going somewhere different each time. A kind of T21 tour of the middle-bit of the UK. The problem with places like Nottingham, Leicester, Wolverhampton and Coventry is that there isn't much to do there, from what people I have known who are from or live there tell me. Of course, I could be completely wrong...

Personally, I'd like to do Leeds or Manchester. Leeds is probably easier for most people, but despite my home town bias, Manchester is probably more fun, and has far more hotels to choose from in or near the centre.

But, end of the day, as long as the bar is open I'll be there, but that's my tuppeny worth for ys.

I'd have said there was quite a bit in Leicester from past experience and Nottingham is suppossed to be really good to from what i've heard. Yeah I agree Birmingham is an ideal place but it'd be nice to change each year and manchester seems liek a good idea as CJL said

I like Brum 'cos it's easy to get to & from & (as far as I can tell) it's fairly central for most peeps.

Nottingham could be a good idea actually, I mean there's two universities there so the night life can't be bad, right?
