My main concern over the where of a T-Party is, can those folks who are responsible for organising it be able to get there?

As it stands, for the last several years, Tam And Den have pretty much done everything. so to me a city roughly half way between their homes seems the logical place, that'd make it somewhere in the midlands.

If other folks are after organising it in Edinburgh or London or Paris or New York, then I dare say they should email the admins about that

On the other hand if the organisers fancy a few extra days in a far away place then I say nominate any city you can think of

well they asked for ideas/suggestions of places that have all the facilities listed and folks are suggesting some thats what this thread is for is it not otherwise why not list possible places the organiser/s CAN make and we can all argue over those instead

As long as its not London(nothing against the place but you guys get everthing dow there).

Thats why im saying Brum as its about as central as you can get for a big city and everybody had fun and its got that 80's place and the baguette place for brekky sarnies.

hey i've stepped back and out of this now as i said i will follow wherever the party trail leads. (well okay not in those exact words but i dont like to repeat myself too much in one thread )

Thanks for all the input so far folks The idea behind moving the party every so often was because we are an online community it means we aren't tied down to any one town. I know I enjoy being in different places & seeing different sights but there is also the flip side where it is handy to stay in one place as then you get to know the area & good places/places to avoid.

I like Brum, the venue we found for this years party was reasonably priced, nicely located & very helpful The hotel perhaps needs some radical attitude adjustment on the part of their nightstaff & a brain transplant for a certain 'Abassi', but was again nicely located close to the venue. I am sure there are other hotels I can go inspect if we decide to have it in Brum again

I did say English town in my opening post (as JtB spotted) for a good reason, which Mon has pointed out already. The T-Party is organised & dealt with by the staff - you then know what you are getting for your ticket cost & can hopefully trust us to put on a good party with clean accomodation etc. There isn't any way that I could handle the logistics for a party in, for example, Edinburgh as I won't book anywhere that I haven't been to & thoroughly checked out myself. I know it is only x hours away by car/train & from £25 by plane but I don't have the time to spare to have a weekend away to check out everything, also I don't have the money for the flight/petrol/airport parking/accomodation etc, while I'm up there.

I think an Edinburgh meet would be really good & I would certainly try to get there but I can't see the T-Party moving there in the near future, sorry. If someone (EW? Milky? CJL?) wants to organise a meet up there then go ahead You have a few interested members from this thread alone!

The T-Party in February'04 will be in England *somewhere* I started this thread to get some ideas in from you folks so we have more information when we come to make the decision.

Everywhere that has been/will be suggested we will be looking into to see what the prospects are. We value your input & suggestions or I wouldn't have bothered to start the thread. Please, keep them coming



While I'm here, we should be in a position to let you know the dates for the party in around a week, so you can check those diaries & pencil us in

I know its not gonna happen in Edinburgh it's been said enough times i just thought (at the time) i'd put it out there again as i mentioned it last time and there was only one spersific reason why it couldnt be there which at the time and none of them were listed above.
as i said before and im sure everyone that loves the t-parties feel the same wherever it is i shall follow.
