I'd be interested.

I'll be on the Party Train(tm) from london!
Really should think about sorting that actually...anyone interested?
T-Party Travel Arrangements
I was just wondering if people were starting to make arrangements to come down.
I was thinking of flying down if its cheaper, but wasn't sure if the airport was in town...and do you need a passport because my is lost somewhere (not sure if its in scotland or london).

The only direct train to Brum at that time is 12.55.

Friday:
Leaving london at 12:50 arriving in Brum at 14:41
Is that the one you mean?
EDIT: If I check for an open return it gives me a time of 12.55, but if I check for a fixed return then 12.50 turns up
(Edited by Taz 07/01/2004 15:52)
EDIT 2:
Tickets booked. Only £15.40
Friday: 12:50
Sunday: 14:15

I'll probably be training it across, I did look at flights, but I can't get cheap ones here, and there's not a snowball's chance in hell that I'm going to drive it (if I pass the test next week..) lol.

Anyone needing car space from the Preston/Liverpool area?
Couldn't get an earlier train because of work, so I'll be on the 14:15 from London. Open return, so I can travel back whenever. I could have got a cheaper ticket, but that would have restricted me to Silverlink trains only, and I wasn't sure how reliable/crowded they'd be on a Sunday afternoon.
So probably see you all there, as it looks like I'm travelling on my ownsome.

Checked my other options and its definatly cheaper to fly.
The problem i'm finding is that some sites are not saying what airport in Birmingham it goes to.
Any ideas?

If you mean the whole 'make sure it's Birmingham International' thing 's cause Milky went to East Midlands (think I've got that right?) which is way out of the way
I've just looked through British Airways and they just say 'Birmingham' but have BHX or something like that.
Yeah i've been told about poor Milky's wee trip, was chatting to Peg today on the phone and she said to make sure I go to the right one.

If you're booking it online, try getting in touch with a local travel agent to find out the correct airport code, as the websites are sometimes misleading with regards to cities with multiple airports.
Thanks Taz
I had planned on calling BA and asking them, if it is the correct airport, and was then going to book online. As I don't want to take any changes, knowing my luck

The X stands for International
Just like LAX stands for Los Angeles International.
Probably best to check but I think you'll find that's what it is.

me and the King of Bling (kiss his ring) will be driving down from London late Friday (about 7:30) if anyone needs a lift in the Colonel.
Hmm, no cheap flights from Amsterdam to Birmingham International...
Does anybody know any other airports that could be convenient to fly to? (that I could get a lift from or something )

In all seriousness East Midlands wasn't to bad, it only cost me £4.80 to get from there to Birmingham New Street via a short bus ride then the train. It's not an international airport so I wouldn't know if it does flights from/to the 'dam. Not sure about others off the top of my head though.
