Sorry but I may be biased but I feel that the O'neills that I work in is a far better pub than the ben crouch, I feel the food is better and that the service is better.

Katie you say that you've been made to feel unwelcome, well sorry but when you came into the pub you seemed to be having a great time.

Spike you say that the food is better and that we don't serve Bud, Don't agree with that as I've eaten in both places and the food is better where I work otherwise I wouldn't eat there (plus we're in the process of changing the menu and bringing new items in which I've told a few people) and we serve Bud except we call it Budvar which is the original Bud before the Americans copied the idea.

The pub I work is a great laugh and yes it can have it's busy days where I wouldn't be able to join you guys in having a laugh but because of the location of the pub we are more quieter on a saturday even during the christmas period( a lot quieter than The Ben Crouch will be at this time of year and on the day you want to do the meet) so I would be able to join in. As Kat and Jola and a few others who've had parties there can attest to when they've come in.

Right kids, I'm making this short because I've gotta work...

For the love of god, it's only a pub! If people want to go to O' Neills, let them. If people want to go to Ben Crouches, let them. There's obviously gonna be a bit of a split decision on this.

And in answer to the question, have I gone for a drinkup in Wales pub. Yes, I have a few times. I'm still not keen on the chain overall as originally stated.

(And people are reading here more than journals I imagine as they are more or less dead anyway)

I never have posted on my journal for meeting up for drinks with what I still call 'the T21 lot'. Drinks with the T21 lot get posted on here, drinks with journal friends get posted on there. Just curious as to who from the journals doesn't come here?

Anyway, I'll only be in Bens 'cos I'm far too lazy to go to two places

I'll be wherever we are cos i'm coming to London that weekend cos it's my brithday the day before so i imagine i'll prolly be in tow with Katie and possibly Ami

I do agree with this, a different pub would be nice for a change, and I don't mind O'Neils, but I do prefer Ben Crouches to it. I still think for the Christmas drinks we should do Ben Crouches as it is our usual meeting place now, however if people want to start in O'Neils or go over there later in the evening i'm sure it won't be an issue. I think in the new year we should look into other pubs to go to for a change though, and we deffinitely need to find a new karaoke pub now the Steam Engine has gone.

This is getting stupid.

Cant a person have a bad feeling about a place? I didnt expect to get a 3rd degree for saying i didnt like a pub, its just not my sort of pub, end of story. The staff have never been horrible and i didnt say they had been.

I like Bens, ill be at Bens, if everyone else goes somewhere else thats up to them, im not the ring leader.

And to be honest, i dont like most pubs, i like 'alternative' pubs because where ever i go i feel 'looked' at but thats something i have to put up with, when im out having a drink i like to feel safe in a place and now that we've made Bens out home thats where i like to be.

Well I was done. *shrug* it was just my 2 cents worth plus playing devil advocate.

I don't like pubs much either. I don't like MY pub which is a bit odd, lol.

Ok - so far we've fathomed out that some of us like O'Neils and some don't. Some of us like Ben's and some don't.

I personally can't stand Ben Crouches, but I will make an effort to pop along to see friends (babysitter permitting). I think Katie made a suggestion earlier of doing both pubs. That is a sensible suggestion.

However, it works both ways. I'm sticking up for Wale here and would guess he'd be working that night anyway. Which means if it stays in Ben's he won't be able to join in. However, if the group go to O'Neils too then he gets a chance to join in (he does get to have breaks you know!) And there have been plenty of times he's joined us for drinks while working.

It's the usual meeting place for some - not all of us. I've only ever been in Ben's twice - once for Wale's birthday pub crawl and the other week when peeps were in there. Quite a few of us regard O'Neils as our "local". Although, admittedly not all are part of "T21".

At the end of the day it's different strokes for different folk. No matter what is said will change that, but sometimes (like I said on my journal, and that post was made about more general stuff that's been happening over the past few weeks/months, although it does seem more apt in this instance) that friends have to put themselves out to take other feelings into consideration.

I've done my ranting now.....

Whatever is decided I'm sure we'll all have a good time.

Though I will add that sometimes I don't think the London-lot always understand that some of us have to travel the better part of 70 miles to get to either pub and others need to travel for hours, so the effort is already more than made on our parts

That is sooooo true. I think quite a few of the London lot have an anureism at the thought of crossing the M25 never mind getting much further North. I'd like to see some of them go to meets in places like Liverpool, Manchester or *gasp* heaven forbid Edinburgh or Glasgow but if it's farther north than Birmingham then it's a no-no.

I'm not a 'London lot' but I wouldn't go further north than Birmingham either
