I don't take that long to chose what to buy, I tend to scan a shop's contents from the doorway (clothes this is) and if theres nothing in the right colour/fabric/cut its off to the next one.

I do realise that this is the way you miss the bargains, but i hate the sales anyway... crowds... pushing... the thing you want in every size but yours errughh! I can do without that!

It's not so much a shopping trip as a military operation.

At least if I'm lucky we get a coffee break, which I extend as long as possible before commandeering the troops to head for the nearest guitar store

I hate clothes shopping alone. Then i see all the styles meant for skinny-minnies (which i am most certainly not) and get all depressed .

Apparently i drive Ray nuts when i'm shopping for clothes.. he's all methodical, he goes up one side of the shop and down the other, whereas i'm the total opposite.. i go where i fancy, and normally if i'm attracted to a colour, rather than a style.. i stick to simple classic stuff if possible, being "curvier" than average, i have to, otherwise i'd just look ridiculous.

I have my shopping down to an art (with 4 kids in tow I have to be quick) I don't go into town with the kids unless I know what I want and where I'm going to get it from its like a military operation (spooky). Unless I'm on my own (which is rare) I always go into the shops I know I can pick clothes of the rack and dont have to try them on (4 kids in a chnaging room just isnt fun)

But if anyone wants to take me shopping without kids I'm sure I could do a great job at being a "typical" woman shopper

Well shopping trips aren't all that bad. If I got shopping with my mum its only because I need clothes and she is paying for them. That kinda makes it a bit more bearable... also this only happends once or twice a year and I know when the time is near because I normally pick the "Saterday" two weeks in advance. So I get a chance to mentally prepare myself for the "oooh that would look good on you and the try this's ".

When I was like little (oh yes even I have been little ) I always got ill when going into certain shops because it was so warm in there and normally kinda cold outside and I kinda never took off my jacket *Grin*

Well I guess there will be a time that I actually go clothes shopping with my girlfriend (she's the one with the bunny on a leash icon mild give away I think). Up till now it was just for the basic foods and the prizes for tparty etc that kinda stuff. But whatever her way of shopping is I doubt it'll bothers me, sure I probably don't like the "shopping" but I'm sure I like the company

Its just how you see the shopping as how annoying it is Spike you can always go back again and watch those posters etc with your mates. Aslong as you keep that in mind before you go it shouldn't have to be half as uncomfy And about the parfume stuff... Go shopping when its wintersales big chance you have a cold

I hear ya on that one.

I can't stand shopping with men tho. You wait patiently in HMV and Virgin Megastores and Our Price while they look at the same stuff in each store then its 3 hours in the Comic shop and the minute you try to pay more than a passing interest in a clothes shop its all huffs and pouts and uncomfortable shuffling and 'this is boring' and 'but you've got loads of clothes you don't need any more'.

So i have a foul proof shopping method - I go clothes and make up shopping while i send the bloke off to a)music shop b)comic shop or c)the pub. We meet up later when i need his credit card

I *hate* clothes shopping. I only go when I really need something, then I have a fixed idea of what I want and obviously none of the shops have it (or they only have it in sizes to fit twigs). I can't be doing with working out what's in fashion or whether it will suit me so I just live in trouser suits and T-shirts at work and jeans and T-shirts out of work. And don't even start me on the subject of shoes....

Then again, I can spend literally hours browsing bookshops, delis and cookware shops...

Now if this were about shopping for women...

Really Inc - what kind of thing do you usually buy forwomen - I'm intrigued - I take it we're not talking a bunch of chrysanthemums here!

I actually enjoy shopping with women. Sure it wasnt so much fun with Jennie as she hadn't really grassped the concept that although we shared a flat, that didn't entitle her to share my credit card *g*
My biggest problem is that I tend to be a bit too honest...
"Yes dear, that skirt actually DOES make your bum look big"
As for lingerie departments, I think the biggest problem isn't that it's embarrasing, but it's boring. I mean, they don't let you play when anything there - and those pumpup bras are fun (I wonder if you can fill them with helium?). I think if they put in a few video games they could make a fortune of bored husbands and boyfriends.

Does anyone actually buy those? And what if you get a puncture? And how awful are those chicken fillet type insert things that you can get? And wouldn't your boyfriend be disapointed when you took it off? And why do they make larger bras with padding? And why does this all sound so familier to me?

Shoe shopping is fantastic. Underwear shopping is great. Clothes shopping is OK. I usually tend to know what I want before hitting the shops and like Tam I can usually stand in a doorway and know if the shop will have what I want.

When i'm in the mood, clothes/shoe shopping is great. Grab my shopping buddy, and have a really good bitch round every clothes shop in central Brum. A fantastic opportunity to take the piss out of the clothes, other people wearing them, and occasionally i even buy stuff.

Now if i could just teach myself the ability to leave a bookshop without buying stuff... but that would be boring

I *love* department stores. The cosmetic counters: Clarins, Chanel, Dior etc

And vintage designer clothes shops. Heaven.

My way of shopping is to only go when absolutely postively necessary for clothes as I am also no skinny minny (I love that phrase keeny!).. so clothes shopping with me would be fast.

Clothes shopping is easy for me- I buy most of my clothes, like jeans, shoes and sweatshirts, over the internet.

Then I buy t-shirts from Forbidden Planet and Kathies Comics. This is why all my t-shirts have Ninja Turtles and Spongebob Squarepants on them.

I see all these girls my age at the mall quite literally dragging their boyfriends into Tammy and New Look, and that's just EVIL! I'd never do that, even if I wasn't afraid to go into those stores

I go shopping with my friend Jake and I've never heard any complaints from him, so I can't be too bad when it comes to shopping.
