Awwww hun it is hard, but you have to keep going on it... as long as she isnt in pain , doesnt need her nappy changing you just have to leave her. She is at the age now that she knows if she crys hard enough you will come into her. I know its hard and some of my cried for hours but the only thing that worked was to leave them, its either that or put up with no sleep

With Sean it took three weeks for him to eventually stop crying in the night, it broke my heart everytime but I put up with it and he did stop, all the rest have been between 3/5 days.

As Sange said - toughing it out is the only way really - Hannah needs to learn to sleep on her own.
I know it will feel awfully hard - but it is for the best in the long run - you will all get a better nights sleep.

It isn't because her dummy is falling out and waking her up, is it?

I've been lucky with Ben, he's normally pretty good, and if he does wake up it's because there's something obviously wrong (nappy, thrown up in his cot etc). On the odd occasions when I haven't been able to work out what was wrong, I've tried giving him a dose of Calpol - I know it's not a good idea, but it's helped.

Georgia sleeps pretty well in the night its just during the day I can battle with her to have a nap

Have you moved her to her own room yet? It could be the time now to do it. If she's still in with you maybe she thinks "aha - parents - I can play now!" But if she's on her own then she'll settle herself back down.

From what I know they do go through theses stages - here's hoping that she'll settle down again soon.

If all else fails..... calpol..... brandy..... sledgehammer.....

She's been in her own room for a week now... its much quieter than in with Ray and myself... so, that's not the problem.

Dummy falling out: she has a knack of looking for it in her sleep and popping it back in her mouth, it's only when she's somehow flung it behind her or out of her reach is when she wakes.. i know it isn't that...that doesn't happen often.

Most of the time when she sits up and whinges through the night she's actually still three quarters asleep!.. as soon as i pop her dummy back in, or touch her to lie her down, her body goes slack and she's settled again, til the next time. Why she does this, i don't know

She has been known to nap okay through the day, if i'm lucky, an hour and a quarter or half in the morning, an hour maybe in the afternoon. She isn't getting too much sleep, as when she wakes up from her afternoon nap, the next time she goes up to her room is to go to bed for the night.

But thank you for the advice.. i think it's time for me not to go to her every time she cries at night, it'll be tough, but i'm prepared to try anything for some decent sleep!..

Update:. Well, she woke just after 10pm last night. I settled her and left her straight away. She started again ten minutes later, waited five minutes before doing it again. Ten minutes after that, she stirred again, I waited again and she went to sleep instead!!. She stirred after 1am, Ray went to settle her. I heard her two or three times in the night, but she eventually got herself off to sleep til 4.30am when i peeped in to see she was sitting up and for some reason, she can get herself sat up from a lying down position, but not the other way around. She settled again til 6.30am. So essentially i only got up once through the night, and i feel more awake!! . And her morning nap was 2 1/2 hours this morning!!!!! . This sounds like the route to follow, though who knows what she'll be like tonight.
