Who Really Rules the World?
A disturbing pamphlet came through the letterbox this morning and having read it, I feel the need to pass along some of the frightening details it contained.
In answer to the above question:
"There is no need to guess at the matter ... an intelligent unseen person has been controlling both men and nations ... the Bible identifies him, saying: "The one called Devil and Satan... is misleading the entire inhabited earth."
Having got my attention with this, the pamphlet did go on to give some helpful hints for avoiding the clutches of the devil:
"Resist Wicked Spirits
A wicked spirit, imitating the voice of one who has died, may talk with that one's living relatives or friends, either through a spirit medium or by a "voice" from the invisible realm. The "voice" pretends to be the departed one, yet it is actually a demon! So if you hear such a "voice", do not be deceived.
In addition, wicked spirits capitalize on the sinful bent of humans by promoting literature, movies and television programs that feature immoral and unnatural sexual behavior."
However, there was some good news:
Happily the time is now near when Satan and his consorts will be no more! "The world [including its demon rulers] is passing away," the Bible assures."
So in summary, don't talk to dead people or think about immoral sexual behavior (and certainly not both at once!) and when the world is destroyed you will enjoy life in a righteous new world forever.
NB - Whilst being very clear about the fact that the devil runs the world, it makes no mention of whether that extends to discussion based web sites. Admins ... something you aren't telling us?

When I did my GMAT exams while applying to do an MBA, I got a letter (amongst others) from a place called Regent University in the US. It offered me a full scholarship, tuition, accomodation, the whole lot. The letter also went on to say they believed God's Will was returning to business and government and were working to get a body of righteous true believers into positions of influence to hasten this process. Needless to say, I didn't accept but I did keep the letter as a rather odd souvenir.

Posted: 23:15 Apr 17 2002 In which case, why not just go for Yog Sothoth, Azathoth or Nyarlathotep for truly cosmic evil? In any case, I'd have more confidence in the ability of someone like Adam Weishaupt or Jacques De Molay to provide sound management of the economy.
